Twas three days before Christmas and all through the land

The pianos were tuned by ear and by hand.

The tuner was home. He was shouting with glee,

"NO PIANOS 'TIL NEXT YEAR! WHOOP, WHOOP and YIPPEE!!!!"

14 pianos in one day. Is that kind of like running a marathon? You get half-way through, want to quit, you throw up, and then get your second wind.

Here in Germany my busiest months are from October to March. December is not so much more than e.g. October or March. It has to do with the heating period. But one thing differs in December: all customers have christmas as deadline. Eve those who call on 22th of December.

My busiest months are August through December and then again March and April. The rest of the time, I am averaging less tunings, still do a lot though, (happy for both sides) and during the summer months, they are mostly filled with some tunings but, a ton of action work. I stop all action work in August again. No time for it.

It's not hard to do 14. 45 min per piano average over about 11 hours. One practice room after another. No driving.
