I would consider both advices.

Then I would probably take more seriously the advice of the person who tries to understand my needs as a customer and gives the advice based on understanding those needs - maybe even a couple of options to chose from.

In the end, the best thing for me would be to learn how to decide on my own, and although some advices could benefit for making the decision, the best person to know what is good for me now and in the future is not the pro nor the novice, but me.

Like in this case with these Logitechs Z2300. Two people have suggested me to buy them - a person from a piano forum and a friend of mine who listens to bad techno. Which one is the pro and which one is the novice? Which one should I believe? I say in this case both of them have the exact same chance in giving the right advice to me - the wrong advice as I don't need them.

It's a free advice so should not complain, but is it the best possible advice to give?

Casio Privia PX-130 + VST = quite close to the real thing.

You certainly are free to choose who you listen to, but I have to say the pro would be my choice...in fact I would consult several pros.

It's hard to beat years of experience...not to say that a novice couldn't give advice...but, I'm afraid a person with actual experience would be my first choice.

Sometimes it's hard to put one's pride in one's back pocket and realize we aren't young enough to know all the answers. wink

I feel lucky to have several friends who are pros, and who offer me unbiased opinions and advice when asked.
