Hi,
Since a lot of people who have tried the V-PIANO thinks that the feel, touch and sound of both V and 700GX are the same, despite the other functions, effects, built in voices, etc, are there any other qualities in terms of REPRODUCE A REAL PIANO to really make the V-PIANO superior?
The Rd-700GX costs ~ US$ 2500.00, half the price compared to V-PIANO.
Must be something that you can't upgrade, not like speakers, for instance.
ps: a side question is: what makes the AVANT GRAND superior compared to V-PIANO in terms of reproduce a real piano? (touch, dynamics, etc)

I think the V-Piano's real intended use is in a recording studio A music producer might care a lot about the exact sound of a piano and desire a different sound for each kind of music. If you only can have one Piano the v-piano might be what you want. But I think you have to really want a "speacial" sound to go through all the work involved to create one. The RD700 has quite a few built-in sounds and each has some range of adjustment The AVANT GRAND has what is likely a $2,000 audio system and multi channel speakers built into it. It also has a very nice wood or wood-like case that is in the style of an acoustic piano. The Roland RD700 and v-piano don't have any built-in speakers and have a very "industrial" looking metal chassis. One is targeted to high end segment of the home/hobby market and the other to studios and the stage. I'm pretty sure that there must be some law of physics that says that anything that sounds like grand piano must have the same size, shape and mass as a grand piano. I think the Avant Grand follows that logic Hi,

Something I've mentioned a time or two...the tonal change according to playing strength you get with the V-Piano is more piano-like than anything else out there...it RESPONDS like a piano. There are some users that feel it lacks realism in some ways and I understand their point but it is a true instrument in my opinion in terms of its response. In another league to the RD, which itself is a fine stage piano.

Good grief. There's seriously no comparison between the two, if you are at all discerning.
