Hey everyone,

I've been playing on a Yamaha YDP-160 Arius for just under half a year and everything has been great until recently. I turned it on this afternoon for practice as normal, and noticed a very *slight* 'kachunk' sounding 'pop' when the speakers came on (which I never heard before) and then light hissing static. All keys/notes play fine, but some kind of strange reverb sound occurs (along with the new static - displacement of the speaker's sound cone?). I have no idea what happened, was fine this morning frown Drives me nuts when Beethoven has a Wah-wah guitar-like effect tacked on !!!

To try to describe the sound: i.e. sustaining an F chord creates an electric guitar feedback-like effect (like the one you get if you picked a string - listening for the 'aftermath'). Oh and it sounds fine when connected via headphones, and both left/right produce same problem. Power connections checked, isolated, and any interference (mobile phone, WLAN) moved far away.

Anyone have any idea what happened to the speakers?? Gremlins?

-- sorry for all the comparisons, it's hard to describe
-- I will try to make a recording of what it sounds like.
