Hello. I'll repost here my thread. I have 500$ for buying a piano. I'm a beginner! Now, the problem is that with that money i can't get the px-130 i've wanted from the ebay cause the shipping cost a fortune (without the extra taxing from my local office post ). I've managed to find two digital pianos in a local store for 500$ : the Yamaha DGX500 and the Yamaha P70. What digital piano should i buy? Should I raise more money for a better one? Or the P70/DGX500 is a good digital piano to start with? From my reading over the internet it seems that the P70 is better. Which one do you recommend ? Thanks in advance!

Why are the prices so high where you live? I could buy a px130 with delivery for well under $500. I would rather step down to a new CasioCDP100 than pay $500 for an older, used and discontinued model. Can you find a CDP100 in the local store? The CDP100 should sell for abut $100 less than the PX130.

Thanks for your response ChrisA! Don't know why the pianos are so expensive here, maybe because of the stores trying to get all the money they can get from the customers. In the stores, here, the Casio CDP100 is around 800$, haha. I've been told that i should start with a 88keys digital piano. And I'll raise that kind of money in 1 year i think since I'm a stundent with no funds from somewhere. So? Any ideas? The P70(which is the cheapest digital piano i can buy here) or raising money for the PX130 or smth else?

The Casio PX130 isn't available yet in my country and the P85 is around 8-900euros. I've read on the forum that some ppl got the px130 for just 400$ (I would be grateful if someone would help me getting one from the USA). Such a shame for my country not beeing able to put the PX130 in the store even for 600$ (although i think when they'll bring it, it will be around +800$)! Think I'll go with the P70 but i need to know if it's a good digital piano to start with? I think at the final of this year I'll switch if i'll improve and the P70 will not suite my needs.

We tend to over analyse. In the end you can learn equally well using any decent quality weighted keyboard.
