Aloha, I have very much enjoyed reading the endless forums on this site. I love it when you go at each other. It's very informative and fun to read. All the advice I've read on here over this last month has lead me to order a Yamaha P-155. Perhaps it's on it's way to Hawaii as I write this. And, no, I have not been able to test any instruments out as I have never even heard of a music store here in Kona. Reading what you you all have to say and listening to many YouTube videos is what has informed my choice.

I would like to be ready when my DP comes with a strategy in hopes of minimising the damage our humidity will have. It will of course be exposed to the humidity while in use as everything is open air. I would, however, like to do what I can while storing it even if only to put something in the soft case with it that aborbs moisture.

If anyone on this forum lives in a tropical environment and has a strategy for coping with humidty, I'm all ears. Most everything rusts here or changes in some way or molds so it is of real concearn.

I would take the same precautions with your new DP as you do with the computer that you're on right now. It will affect your DP in the same way and as long as the humidity doesn't damage other electronic gear such as tv's, stereos and computers, you should be good to go!
