Hi all,

I did a search in this forum on Pruthner piano but found no returns. frown

Is there anyone here who had experience with this brand? I would like to hear both positive and negative information.

Thanks alot in advance.

Bluthner yes. Pruthner, No.

If you are correct in the name, it is probably a Chinese-made stencil piano.

If you mean Bluthner, it is one of the world's finest pianos.

bachie,

I have seen Pruthner imported from Japan with other "grey market" pianos.

I don't have my Japanese atlas handy and don't remember the builder but I do remember the 6 or 8 I have seen were old and very poor.

Thank you very much for your comments. I have written this option off my piano search diary after seeing and playing the actual piano for myself. I wouldn't say it's a really bad piano. The owner's lack of care for it has damaged the piano. That's a pity.

I saw a Pruthner piano in a piano shop in Auckland today. It was a tall vertical piano and was advertised as a Japanese piano about 30 years old. I opened the lid and played a few notes. It was not a piano that excited my interest apart from its name. The name is obviously a parody on "Bluthner" and the instrument itself a grotesque travesty of anything by that great German piano maker.

Regards,

Robert.

Or maybe Baldwing, Steinwish, Kohler and Clambake, Yamahaha, Kawee, Mason and Hamberger, Bosendorker, etc, etc.
