I have made up my mind. . .I´m buying a new stage piano, replacing my old (yet satisfying) Korg sp250. Right now I am leaning towards buying a Roland fp7, but I fear there are better stage pianos out there for a similar price. Does anyone know of a competing stage piano from Kawai or Yamaha (for example) that can outperform the Roland fp7 on a similar price range? Is the Roland fp7 the "way to go"? Thanks .. .

Heh. Heh.
The best way to avoid new stage piano fright is to avoid telling the wife / significant other about it. (Trust me, she might not even notice!)
I once got a new computer (back in my PC days) and never said anything, and the wife didn't notice. (In the end, though, I did get ratted out my my very young son. "Look, Daddy got a new 'puter". When I asked him how he knew, he said it was because the black button (logo) on the front was now red!)
If you're not in a hurry, for sure check out the new stage pianos coming from Yamaha - the CP1 / CP5 / CP50. Lots of chatter about these on other threads in this forum.

What you are really asking is "Is here a DP I'd like better than the FP7?" None of us would know. It really is a matter of opinion at that point Maybe you like the new Korg SV1? Depends really on the reason you want to upgrade
I like the FP7 but I like the RD700GX a lot more and with the new upgrade expansion cards for "supernatural" acoustic pianos I'd think hard about spending a few more dollars for the RD700.

Does anyone know of a competing stage piano from Kawai or Yamaha (for example) that can outperform the Roland fp7 on a similar price range? Ha! Really like your choice of subject! Like Lawrence recommended above, check out the new additions to the Yamaha CP line. I personally wouldn't waste a penny of my hard earned dough on a DP that has audible sample looping (i.e. just about every DP out there at present) - life's just too short to have to put up with that kind of lameness.
