Ok. Putting my neck on the line here.

This is a simple composition of mine, but before I develop it further, could anyone tell me if it is a rip-off of something else?

Each time I play it, it sounds like something I have heard before.

Not the best of performances, I admit, but it is just in the idea stage, at the moment.

Honest criticism welcomed.

I'd be inclined not to worry. I get that peculiar "heard it before" effect hundreds of times with my stuff. I think the subconscious mind remembers little chord changes or small melodic segments out of context and the more music you listen to and play the more frequently the effect occurs. It's a very pretty piece of music, and I think that a really extended accidental coincidence would have been pointed out on youtube well before now. Therefore just carry on developing it.

A couple of students have expressed an interest in learning it, and I didn't want to polish it and write it out, if it was a blatant rip-off.
