Hi
With regard to music workstation desks i’m looking to find a strong enough platform that would hold an 18kg Yamaha Digital keyboard and to still have all the equipment directly in front at arms length for convenient work, the conventional slide out bottom desks are just not strong enough. This has been an issue now for some time that needs to end so one can properly concentrate on music production, could anyone recommend any sites to order from? europe based.

I would die for one of these: http://www.mrack.com.au/32ss_synth.htmSadly not sure if they are available in Europe, but it should be possible to find something similar

Apologies for posting twice in a row, but it occurred to me, that if you have a firm idea of what you want, and an eye for design, it may pay to approach a local crafstman, or bespoke kitchen manufacturer.
If you gave them the specs you need, you may find it a lot cheaper, and could have a custom job built to your requirements.

Something I always wanted to say on Pianoworld: Nice rack!
Mine is a DIY solution above my normal desk.
I have monitor and speakers at eye/ear level on a wall mounted shelf and my piano keyboard on the desktop surface mounted on a sleigh that I can push back when not in use or for casual noodling or bring forward in use. Computer keyboard is wireless and in same ergonomic place as forward position of keyboard when in use or sometimes on lap or off to side when doing combined work.

No need to die just yet! You can find something like this, but it won't be called a synth workstatation. It will be called a factory workstation. Manufacturing assembly lines often use workstations similar to this one. These are standard offerings from companies that make manufacturing equipment. And they can easily customize to suit. They're not cheap. But neither is the one you referenced ... that one is shown at $3065 USD! (Correction: Their stated price was based on $1 AUD = $0.80 USD. But the USD has weakened. At current rates, that workstation would be $3550. Yikes!)

I have a home-made desk squeezed into a corner, and a cheap Ikea table, at right angles, reinforced in the center, with some 4" plastic pipe, filled with sand, and sealed with two squares of wood. Just a temporary arrangement for now, until I can commandeer another room, to set things up properly. I still need to make a slide out shelf under the DP to take a cordless mouse. (the 'Kong' doggy toy is optional ) [img:center] [/img] [img:center] [/img]

you could try makin' one. http://pianocheater.com/piano/rig.htmlor look around for somebody with a tablesaw and the need for 200 bucks... (plus cost of materials) (or whatever) Mostly, you just need 2 bars underneath the keybed. Regular shelf supports (without the shelf) could work for ya...

The Composers Desk at http://www.virtualinstrumentsmag.com/ is interesting, and only $2495 plus shipping! Crazy, although you can get some customization when it is built.
