My piano was made by "James M. Starr & Co." in the 1890s and I plan on getting it restored/rebuilt to use as my primary piano. I came across an ad from 1906 describing a piano built by the company, that is similar to mine. (I will list a link to this below). It has the listing price for the piano at $450. Does this confirm that the Starr piano company built good quality pianos? Have you ever heard of the company?

You will probably get more answers if you post on the piano forum. That's where all the experts hang out. Not that we're not experts here but this is mostly on teaching.
