Wishing everyone warm winter greetings! (Image courtesy Mary Rose) This thread is the check-in for the 22 February 2010 and 1 March 2010 E-citals, by which our virtual community will pay our humble homage to a great man, a man of character, a man of imagination, a genius whose unique depth of artistry has left its indelible stamp not only upon our hearts but upon history. There will never be another Fryderyk Chopin, nor another 200th anniversary of his birth. I would humbly ask that participants who see this please check in and verify their participation. Last-minute changes are an ineluctable fact of life; by posting this with some lead time we hope to maximize participation. Mary Rose and I will try to bump this thread regularly to ensure everyone sees it. This is for Fryderyk - let's celebrate him together! Hey Gerg, you dropped me! I think you misunderstood my last post. I didn't say I was backing out of performing the Fantaisie Impromptu. I was just sending out a call for backup in case I couldn't bring it up to performance tempo. So, you can put me back in as I am still working on it diligently, patiently, assiduously, relentlessly.

My appologies, but I thought I pulled out. I left a message on the original thread at the beginning of this month.

Hopefully. I still practice it, but I'm dedicating less time to it at the moment. Just keeping it in the fingers so I can revisit it when my technique improves sufficiently enough. Watch this space!

Count me in! I'm grateful to Greg and Mary-Rose (and anyone else behind the scenes) for organizing this wonderful tribute.

Oh, stop it! Your Barcarolle will bring down the house I have zero doubt. I know how hard you have worked this piece, to perfect every minute detail. I am truly excited by how your playing will be received by this audience. (No pressure now, Heidi! ) BTW we have 150GB of web storage; we've used MAYBE 1% of that with our past recitals.

What was I thinking when I signed up for 4 Mazurkas? They were ALL much harder than they looked. I hope to send everything in next week.

I'm sure they'll all be great. Yikes, Schubertian! My hat's off to you. Are you submitting the Polonaise 40/2 also?

LA: "There is not what is needed" or something along those lines. (Mati, I realize that I was an idiot when I was translating it as "I do not have what I need." Of course you wasn't an idiot, Elene - don't you even say that! You're spot on with the translation. p.s. another progress report - my hands don't like this fun Mazurka, but I will complete it without fail, I hope. M.

I just saw this post for the first time, and I wanted to know if I could submit something. I've just recorded three pieces that aren't on this list. Can I submit them?
Mazurka Op 24/1 Mazurka Op 24/2 Polonaise Op 26/2
Let me know, MM
