I think pot should only be smoked when you have absolutely nothing to do in the next few hours. Problem is the prolonged use takes so much energy off you ... it s not cool to become a stoner even when you re not stoned. But this applies to avery other drug. Pot's definitely less harmful to your health than alcohol, in my opinion. Its effects are less harmful for society too. Why one is legal and the other is not is jsut a political thing. Pot causes far less deaths.
Anything i did when i was stoned i dfid it worse than sober. And that is if i did it. Im not anti-pot at all and still enjoy it every now and then, but it did hamper my progress in college a lot.
Having said that , i can also say trhat havong been a heavy user for almost 20 years, i feel the price paid is better than what i woild ve paid with any other drug including legal ones.
One good thing about pot too is that it is seldom adulterated.
But, being "not too harmful" does not mean being harmless. Mind you, i d rtaher have a stoner son or wife than an alcoholic.

Yes, marijuana is not a performance enhancing drug, but it is a performance enhancing drug, depending upon whether you're enhancing the performance or enhancing the performance.

at some not so good performances the use of MH can get one through the ordeal of being there, at other instances, fi. after(!) having given your worst imaginable performance, the same habit could ease your nerves, but in the end: Truth will haunt you.

I knew someone with substance abuse issues who stopped using pot because it was illegal and they were scared of getting arrested or fired from their job. Instead they ended up overdosing on prescription narcotics. If they stuck with the pot they might still be here.

I must say, this is a most interesting thread, and I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the contributions. Earlier, I posted my experience at uni and also some of the great concerts I went to under the influence. Just like to add an anecdote. I started fairly early, must have been when I was around 15. (Peer pressure of course. ) One night I came home quite well toked, and my mum knew instantly what was going on. (Oh dear, here we go- I thought she would have been in bed by then!) Well, I had plenty of ammunition because I knew she had been a big stoner in her early hippy years. She just coldly stared down at me and solemnly said: 'Jason, don't let that get out of hand.' I never did, and if I partook a fair amount subsequently on the weekends at uni, I did very well with my studies, as I always had done in secondary school.
