very pretty Bryon! I have to ask though. Was there a cat meowing in the background or something? I started listening to it and I thought my cat was having a fit!lolz. Or at least it sounded like a cat and it sounded almost exactly like my cat when she meows.. anyway very nicely played though!
Haha! For the record, that is my seven week old baby crying in the background, although it could be easily mistaken for either of my two cats
I should post an "outtakes." It was a comedy trying to record this -- the first time I had the baby in the room with me and she started SCREAMING (she is a little colicky and can really scream!) about 25 seconds in. I finally got her to calm down and gave her to my wife in the other room and hit record again. This time the phone -- which was sitting right by the camera -- rang about half-way through. Finally, on the third time I was able to get all the way through with only some minor background crying.
how do you guys get the youtube videos on the forum instead of just the website address?:) I can never figure out that part^^

You have to copy the "embed" link that should show up on the right side of the you tube page with your video. Then you paste it into your reply and select "using HTML" in the drop down box before submitting your reply. If you don't do that it will show up as gobble-dee-gook.
ooh haha my mistake, I actually got up from my computer to check on my cat and she was sleeping like usually..:P Babies have their moments too i guess!

Oh my..., so much new music since I checked last time. This weekend I should have a time to watch/listen all your new submissions. Meanwhile you can watch my new video. I've recorded two versions of it more than a week ago but I couldn't decide which one is better. And I'm still not sure. Hopefully you'll like the version I choose to upload.
Johann Sebastian Bach - Prelude in C major (BWV 939):

Nicely done, Musictuary. I especially liked the Bartok, where you did well to control the 'mist' and not tangle it up in the 'melody'.
OK, time to submit something myself. It's been a bit of a dry month so far, but I have taken a liking to this one from Pete Friesen's book (Take the Lead 2). It's called Five Stars. My aim is to improvise over the baseline, like Pete does in the CD - in this recording I've taken a few liberties, but mostly stuck to the plot as written in the book (I think):
Shira's certainly mastered the bass-line of this number, however I found the melody section somewhat lacking. Charming vocalisations! A most enthusiastic performance, and I noticed she retains good rapport with her audience!
Still, she is rather strecthing the definition of 'adult beginner'.

Musictuary - Nice job on these. I especially liked the Bartok.
ten_left_thumbs - Your Five Stars sounds great. Easy and smooth and draws me right in. I've never heard it before, but I enjoyed the relaxed, "rolling" feel you play it with.
Thankyou for your comments, Larry B and Cathy. I do really enjoy playing this one, and have been at it a lot since posting. If you are interested, Cathy, in developing improvising skills in the RH, this is a good book to go for. I'm finding it less intimidating than other things on improvising, in that you can see little melodic variations that are do-able and sound good. That's what I'm finding, at any rate.

TLT - very excellent. You get five stars for playing Five Stars. You kept the rhythm very well. It's a pretty piece of music and I am sure you enjoy creating it. Thank you.
