I know the CP50 has not come out yet but I need a piano soon. I just sold my Korg Triton and I don't know if i can make it until the middle of may without a piano.
Given this, should I get the CP-300, which I really like, or wait until the CP50 comes out to make a decision?

The CP300 just had a price cut. It's real nice, except it weighs about 70 lbs. When is the CP50 out? like May?

The CP50 will sell for about $600 less than the CP300. Perhaps you can rent something while you wait with the expected savings
Edit: I assume $$2,100 and $1,500 prices. Always don't matter and is still "rent".

The cut to 2000, right? Or is there another cut that happened recently?
I thought the CP50 was coming out in mid march but quite a few websites now say march 31st.

What will be the selling price of the CP50 be? I thought it was 1700, which is only 300 dollars cheaper than the CP300.

the cp50 does not have built-in speakers, and the speakers on the cp300 are supposed to be quite good.
does anyone think that yamaha will be announcing additional new models soon that may have built-in speakers? i'm leaning strongly toward a cp300, but if it's about to be outdated, i'd rather wait.

I don't see a CP300 as ever being outdated.

I don't mean outdated as in a bad instrument. But it has been out for four years, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea on when it might get replaced with a new model?

Guitar Center offers a 15% discount on anything above $ 299.00 during the President's Day week-end (from Feb.12 to Feb. 15). That means that you can get a brand new Yamaha CP 300 for $ 1700 ! I would go for it.

Given this, should I get the CP-300, which I really like, or wait until the CP50 comes out to make a decision? I'd buy an older used Yamaha with similar GH keyboard (P80,90,120)and then sell it when you decide to buy the CP50. You probably won't lose any money if you find a reasonable deal, and you'd be using the same keyboard touch as the CP50. I bought my P90 for $350 over a year ago, I'm sure I could sell it for at least that much.

The coupon can be used at any guitar center. I received two on the mail because I am on their address list (having bought from them in the past). It shouldn't be difficult to get one.

Is the new CP50 going to be THAT much better than the CP300 (in terms of sound). That is the impression I seem to be getting.
Though I find hard to believe it will sound as good as the CP1 or CP5.

The guitar center coupon says 15% off any single item $299 or more and then in small print says "up to $500". wonder if that means the item can cost up to $500 or the discount can be up to $500.
