I bought a MIDI - USB adapter for use with my Yamaha YDP140 and my laptop running Windows 7. I opened up Pianoteq with all the connections correct (and yes, I did check them) and it doesn't seem to work. If I press some keys it will only sound the first key I pressed and then I have to wait around 10 seconds for it to be able to play another key. The cable works with my old keyboard and my laptop, so what is the problem with the YDP140? I have tried factory resets on the DP, changing the MIDI transmit channel, everything, and it doesn't work. Can anyone help?
Thanks

I've read a that a number of people are having trouble with the "uno" cable and Yamaha under Windows. Likely the problem is in the driver. It seems to be (if you can trust the reviewers) the combination of all three that gives them trouble.
As long as you can see the LEDs in that little plastic "bump" in the cable flash each time you play a note then the DP is sending the data and the problem is on the PC end.
Can you send MIDI data the other way? From the PC to the DP? If so that you prove the cable is working and connected correctly.
One more test you can do to verify the YDP140 is sending the right data. You say youhave another keyboard. Connect to two with MIDI cables and play notes on the YDP140 and use the old keyboard as a tone generator. This will prove that the 140 is sending out what you play.
