Wishing everyone warm winter greetings!

This thread is the check-in for the 22 February 2010 and 1 March 2010 E-citals, by which our virtual community will pay our humble homage to a great man, a man of character, a man of imagination, a genius whose unique depth of artistry has left its indelible stamp not only upon our hearts but upon history. There will never be another Fryderyk Chopin, nor another 200th anniversary of his birth.

I would humbly ask that participants who see this please check in and verify their participation. Last-minute changes are an ineluctable fact of life; by posting this with some lead time we hope to maximize participation. Mary Rose and I will try to bump this thread regularly to ensure everyone sees it.

This is for Fryderyk - let's celebrate him together!

Hey Gerg, you dropped me! smile I think you misunderstood my last post. I didn't say I was backing out of performing the Fantaisie Impromptu. I was just sending out a call for backup in case I couldn't bring it up to performance tempo. So, you can put me back in as I am still working on it diligently, patiently, assiduously, relentlessly.

I'm pleased to say there are two further offerings for the 1st March ecital:
Nocturne 15/1 - Horowitzian
Scherzo in B flat minor Op 31 - Chopin4life

Thanks for posting this reminder, gerg. Only four weeks to go, folks!

My appologies, but I thought I pulled out. I left a message on the original thread at the beginning of this month.

Hopefully. I still practice it, but I'm dedicating less time to it at the moment. Just keeping it in the fingers so I can revisit it when my technique improves sufficiently enough. Watch this space! smile

Please beam good 'pianistic thoughts' my way, to bring me luck... fast agile fingers and sharp memory, etc... eek eek

Oh, stop it! blush Your Barcarolle will bring down the house I have zero doubt. I know how hard you have worked this piece, to perfect every minute detail. I am truly excited by how your playing will be received by this audience. (No pressure now, Heidi! wink )

BTW we have 150GB of web storage; we've used MAYBE 1% of that with our past recitals.

Oh, my blush

Is it too late to change my submission to "Chopsticks"? grin
