Hmmm... I think either I am misunderstanding the "technical feedback yes/no" option, or people's use of that option has changed from when it was first suggested.
I thought answering "no" to technical feedback meant that I just wanted to refrain from having people give me technical feedback (such as "work on your dynamics, work on your tempo" etc), not to refrain from comments of any kind.
I was checking the box "no" specifically with regard to technical comments, and not with regard to anything else. I am already beating myself up enough about my poor playing, and since I have been using my recordings with my piano teacher to get advice from her about what to do differently, I didn't feel like I was up to getting technical advice and comments here as well. Also, in the past some people have put a lot of time and energy into giving technical advice (which I think is fantastic) so since I would likely end up thinking "yeah, I know..." about specific technical comments, I thought it best to select "no" both for myself and for my ABF friends.
To the people who have commented, thank you all very much!! HomeInMyShoes, CMohr,Jazzwee, Frozenicicles, ddh, thank you!
Inlanding, I'm glad you noticed the story told by the music! That's one of the things I struggle to bring out, because I hear it as a story in my head and if I can even come close to telling that story, then I am very happy!
And Quagles, thank you especially for commenting, since you are familiar with the original. The arrangement I have is based on the original that was performed with piano and strings. You might know that Hisaishi has a scorebook called "Encore," which is solo piano arrangements of a lot of pieces that were originally orchestrated. That collection includes an arrangement of Summer which is very different from the arrangement I played. (I like the Encore arrangement too, it's just very different)
I am very happy to hear what people think about the piece, and when people say they enjoyed my playing, it means the world to me. So, was I wrong to check "no" to technical feedback??

ddh, you're not the only one who commented on it, so I was just wondering if I was "off" somehow. But thanks for the clarification! BTW, I just noticed your avatar, is that a gi of some sort? Do you do a martial art? Yes, i practiced and competed in Judo in the seventies; this is a cartoon a friend drew of me inspired by a french comic strip "Achille Talon". I thought it fitting Cheers.

17 Performer's name: Mr Super Hunky Waterfalls Incredible for "playing by ear!" This relaxing piece of music definitely does remind me of a waterfall. I picture myself on a boat on a lake, just staring at nature whilst listening to this piece. 18 Performer's name: tdvance (Todd Vance) Sonatina, Op. 13, No. 1, 1st mvt. by Dmitri Kabalevsky
Nice job! Very secure playing. 19 Performer's name: timmyab Impromptu op 142 no 2 by Schubert Great job on this classic. I enjoyed the 2nd strain - sounds technically challenging and you executed nicely. 21 Performer's name: mcasl Erster Verlust, from the 'Album for the young' by Schumann, Op. 68, 16 Nice job! You are making great progress, my friend. This is no doubt your most technically challenging piece (that I've seen from all your videos). You played it very securely and cleanly. 5-stars!

22 Performer's name: Jazzwee Stella by Starlight by Victor YoungNice Jazzwee... there's lots of you guys who'd definitely do well in a piano bar, and you're one of them. 23 Performer's name: LaValse Etude Op 2 by Scriabin Great job, and very cleanly played! 24 Performer's name: TX-Dennis (Dennis Turner) When I Fall In Love by Edward Heyman / Victor Young (1952)
Nice job, Dennis! A classic song. This is another situation where..... too bad I can't sing. LOL 25 Performer's name: ddh - Daniel La fuente y la campana (The Fountain and the Bell) by Federico MompouWow, a somewhat "dark" piece, and I like the way the mood changes with each strain. Nicely performed and nicely executed!

55. epf - Swipsey I need to listen to more of Joplin, I am not familiar with this one, but it sounds fun to play. I can hear a lively left hand, which would be the demise of me. Nice job Ed!
56. grotrianer - Ständchen
I enjoyed listening, it is a beautiful piece. I did not notice the left hand as heavy.
57. Mateusz 'Mati' Papiernik - Lute Prelude in c minor (BWV 999) Sounds pretty good to me and yes it sounds difficult. Good job Mati!
58. TTigg / Steve C - Life & Death
Thanks for telling me where I had heard this before... it would have drove me batty trying to figure that out. Just excellent Steve, I really enjoyed listening to your submittal.
59. Bunneh - Valse a minor, op. posth. Tough to be critical when I enjoyed it so much...
60. Always Wanted to Play Piano - Sonatina Op.36 No.1 in C major - Movements 2 and 3 Very nice AWTPP, I will have to go back to the last recital and listen to 1.
61. Mar_red - Kasztany (Chestnuts) & Suicide Is Painless (Medley) Not familiar with the first one, but enjoyed listening to both of them and the ending was perfect.
62. Yamaha G3 & P-80 Mike White - E lucevan le stelle Perhaps we will hear Chopin in the spring? This is light years better than I can sight read.
63. ShiroKuro - Summer ShiroKuro, thanks for submitting, I enjoyed listening to your practice piece, and sound was fine.
64. BB Player - Comptine d'autre ete BB Player, I was looking forward to hearing this one. I thought this was pretty well done. I tried this last year and could not conquer this one. Could not get the left hand and the right hand to play together in the third section. It is one my wife likes, so I will try again- maybe later this year.

ddh, Sam, Cathy, Augustina, Dennis, Jazzwee, Stings & Wood, Eighty8~~
Thank you all for your valuable commentary, insights, and encouragement for my first 'cital' of any sort!
There are three more that will require significant prep - the Beethoven, Schumann, and Unsung Heroes e-citals.
Time permitting, I will post those tunes on the Piano Bar for comment.
Have a great weekend! Glen

01. LisztAddict - Nocturne Op 9 No 1 What a great start to this recital! I'll mirror all the other comments here and just say this was awesome. I loved the acoustic (real) piano sound for this piece. Like another commenter stated, this is going straight to my player for future listening. 02. AnthonyB - Nefeli Another great piece. Makes me want to learn this someday when I can play it! 03. Ken. - Minuet fait par Monsieur Bohm I have never heard this before - thanks for sharing! I love Bach. A real treat, and much better sounding than my unsuccessful you tube search! 04. z32/Ben - Dream A pretty piece and very well played! Thanks for sharing. 05. BenPiano - Adagio in B minor KV 540 Dude, get a teacher. 06. dannylux / Mel - Intermezzo Op.29 No.4A nice lively piece. I especially liked the transition around the 2:00 mark. 07. ten left thumbs - Slow Blues in G Ahh, the first blues piece on the list. So far, some great variety. I first listened to this in a fairly busy (and loud) public area, and the chatter just blended right in with the music, like out of a movie bar scene. Perfect! 08. Peyton - Thoughts of Anne Luckily I had a sneak peak on your you tube channel and left a comment there. The second time around it is still awesome! 09. Manndrew - Danny Boy Like you, I too was intrigued with the chords on this one. Very foreign territory for me to play, but a treat to listen to. 10. joangolfing - Prelude No. 4 in F Major Excellent control with dynamics and tempo and overall control. A real joy to listen to!

20. mattodono - Musette in D Major BWV Anh. 126
This has been on my list of things to learn for a while, but it keeps getting pushed back and I don't know if I'll ever get to it. BUT, I'm glad to hear that you did get to it. It's such a happy piece, and you played it with the exuberance it deserves - well done!
21. mcasl - Erster Verlust, from the 'Album for the young' by Schumann, Op. 68, 16
Another piece I've never heard. Played with great touch and feel. Excellent!
22. Jazzwee - Stella by Starlight
Warts & all?! Red dot?! This was great! Never heard the original, but to me this sounded like it was supposed to. Well played!
23. LaValse - Etude Op 2
This is considered an etude? It was absolutely wonderful!
24. TX-Dennis (Dennis Turner) - When I Fall In Love
This was terrific! I don't know what arranging you added, but it all belonged and flowed very well. I'd love to play this well and add my own arranging as you did someday. Well done!
25. ddh - Daniel - La fuente y la campana (The Fountain and the Bell)
I'm not sure I would like the sound of this on a digital (like mine), but on your acoustic, this was divine. Thank you for bringing this to life!
26. Serge88 - What A Wonderful World
A classic. Well played - bravo!
27. AnotherSchmoe - Eyes On Me
Very beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
28. Teodor Tenchev - The Little Shepherd's Song
Well done at 3 months! It wasn't long ago that I was at 3 months, so I can understand the frustration with dynamics. Learning the notes is only a part of a piece, then learning the proper dynamics is like relearning the piece all over again. I've never heard this piece before, but it sounded great to my ears. Well done!
29. HomeInMyShoes (Aaron) - op. 15, nos. 1, 4 & 8
Wonderfully played!
30. Monster M&H /Les - Misty
This sounds beautiful. I'm really envious of your piano rebuilding skills and playing. Nice!
31. CMohr - Gavotte I & Gavotte II ou la Musette from English Suite #3 in Gminor
Wow, this sounds like such a monster to tackle with so little time back to playing (or a monster for anyone in general). Very technical and harmonious. Well played!

First, thank you to everyone who submitted a piece. I had hours of enjoyment listening to them all. Thank you too, to the organizers of this event. What a great opportunity to share our music with each other! Now for specific comments: 01. LisztAddict - Nocturne Op 9 No 1 Beautiful! You've inspired me to learn another Chopin piece. 02. AnthonyB - Nefeli Pretty music, and you play it well. Lots of feeling here. Amidst all that smoothness, the abrupt stop in the middle was kind of shocking, though. 03. Ken. - Minuet fait par Monsieur Bohm Bach sounds so good on your spinet. Good job. 04. z32/Ben - Dream Yes, dreamy! A pleasure to listen to. 05. BenPiano - Adagio in B minor KV 540 Thanks for sharing your playing and your interpretation of this. I like hearing about what others get out of a piece. 06. dannylux / Mel - Intermezzo Op.29 No.4 Good job on those LH arpeggios. Nice full sound to contrast with the staccato sections. 07. ten left thumbs - Slow Blues in G You put your January to good use! I don't much care for blues (having listened too much to my husband playing them on his guitar), but this was enjoyable. 08. Peyton - Thoughts of Anne Well, thank you Anne, for inspiring Peyton! It seems strange to be able to compose something that you are unable to play. But what you did play was beautiful. 09. Manndrew - Danny Boy I love this melody. Thanks for sharing this version. 10. joangolfing - Prelude No. 4 in F Major Pretty piece and nicely played. 11. John Frank - Ashokan Farewell "Haunting" was the word I was thinking of to describe the violin opening, and then I read your "hauntingly beautiful" phrase. It may be because I think the violin is the most beautiful-sounding instrument in the world, but it was hard for me to transition to the piano voice. I wonder if some post-recording mixing between the two would work? Otherwise, very nice. 12. TrueBeginner - Until Dawn I'm always impressed with original compositions by ABF members, and this is no exception. I like it very much. 13. Riddler (Ed) - On Green Dolphin Street Love the stereo effect on the opening percussion section. You use that drum backing to great effect. And the rhythm is fun. 14. Strings & Wood/CarlMc - Prelude in E minor OP. 28 No. 4 CarlMc, I learned this piece last fall and almost played it for this recital. Now I'm glad I didn't! I play it much slower than you. Your version is so different but very beautiful. I love those last 3 chords! 15. ladypayne - Canon in D A beautiful piece. I wish the recording was a little cleaner, because I'm sure it sounds even lovelier in person. However, under no circumstances should you watch this video,, which someone recently posted in another thread. It will ruin it for you forever. 16. Schubertian - Variations Hob. III/77 Thanks for the background info. For some reason I really like variations, so I appreciate this piece. Great job on the sight reading. 17. Mr Super Hunky - Waterfalls Really like the section of RH high note arpeggios. That's the part that says "waterfall" to me. 18. tdvance (Todd Vance) - Sonatina, Op. 13, No. 1, 1st mvt. This piece is a little tough for me to understand. But I enjoyed your playing of it. Thank you. 19. timmyab - Impromptu op 142 no 2 You must love this piece, to play it for 15 years! Your familiarity with it is obvious. Nice playing! (About the repeats: You know what they say -- only repeat it if you have something different to say. Don't know if I agree with that. Sometimes it's just so beautiful, you want to hear it again.) 20. mattodono - Musette in D Major BWV Anh. 126 Glad that you started playing again. This piece makes me smile. Thank you for playing it. 21. mcasl - Erster Verlust, from the 'Album for the young' by Schumann, Op. 68, 16 A pretty little piece. Thank you for playing it for us. 22. Jazzwee - Stella by Starlight Enjoyed hearing your improvising. I'm not familiar with "Stella by Starlight", so I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the melody at the end. Now I have to listen to it again. 23. LaValse - Etude Op 2 Beautiful piece and beautifully played. 24. TX-Dennis (Dennis Turner) - When I Fall In Love Ahh, how romantic! Music for a candlelit dinner. Love it! 25. ddh - Daniel - La fuente y la campana (The Fountain and the Bell) Impressive. Very dramatic. Sounds great on your piano. 26. Serge88 - What A Wonderful World Nice arrangement of a great melody. Really enjoyable. 27. AnotherSchmoe - Eyes On Me Enjoyed your submission. Is this from a video game?! 28. Teodor Tenchev - The Little Shepherd's Song Good progress in 3 months! Incorporating the dynamics will come with time. 29. HomeInMyShoes (Aaron) - op. 15, nos. 1, 4 & 8 All three of these are nice, but I especially love No. 1, maybe because I've played that one. You play it so beautifully smooth, with just the right expressiveness. 30. Monster M&H /Les - Misty Love your playing. Very swingy. I don't dance, but I want to while listening to this. 31. CMohr - Gavotte I & Gavotte II ou la Musette from English Suite #3 in Gminor I know what you mean about the trills and sympathize with you. It sounds like you're getting there with them. I especially like Gavotte II. 32. NancyM333 - Revolutionary Etude (Opus 10, No. 12) Sounds good to me! I think it's good to sometimes work above our abilities, and you say you enjoyed the time you spent with it. That's what matters. I enjoyed listening to it. 33. Ode2Joy1 - Chopin Mazurka in D Major, Op. 33 No.2 You play this so well! You're sure to do great at the recital. I especially liked your ornaments and triplets (is that what they were?). 34. b528nf7 (Bill) - Someone To Watch Over Me I enjoyed it! Thank you for playing and singing(!). 35. PaulMac - Minuet in G You're doing great. I always enjoy hearing this piece. 36. mahlzeit - Recital 17 Must be nice to be able to just "whip something together"! Very nice. 37. Alleykatt - Cathy - Theme & Variations From The Moldau Wow, that's powerful music, to be able to inspire people to that level. Your playing sounds inspired too. 38. Norah - Le Onde Einaudi's music is so expressive, and you certainly bring that out. 39. Mark... - Prelude in A Major Op. 28, No. 7 Congratulations on a great start to your Chopin experience. 40. Eighty8 - In My Life You can't go wrong with the Beatles. Sounds really good on a piano. 41. DragonPianoPlayer - Chopin Prelude No 6 I like the way you bring out those deep notes in the LH harmony. 42. eggsdeee - Alt Wien (Old Vienna) Nice touch. I like your dynamics and timing. 43. Coldsalmon - Preludes Op.28 No. 15 in D-flat Major, Raindrop I'm so enjoying listening to all this Chopin. Thank you for your performance of this prelude. Well done. 44. bluekeys - I Will Really, the Beatles? I never heard this song before. It's very pretty. Do you get the "Red Dot" prize this recital for those 80 tries? 45. Quagles - Dear You Don't be so hard on yourself. I enjoyed your playing, and you convey that "refreshing" quality that you mentioned. 46. pianahman (Richard Griffin) - Arabesque Thanks for including a description of the music. Your experience shows in your performance. Even just the mental endurance needed to perform an almost-8-minute piece is impressive. Very nice. 47. Inlanding/Glen - Prelude in C Major BWV 846 So nicely played, Glen. 48. Musictuary - Sonatina in C Major - Op. 55 No. 1 Enjoyable piece. You have a delicate touch which serves this well. 49. Tenolios - Vesper from Casino Royale Congratulations on a nice performance. 50. Euan Morrison - Opening (from Glassworks) This sounds technically demanding, rhythmically-speaking. You played a Glass composition for the last recital. I'm still liking him. This one was hypnotizing. 51. IPIBAHN Sandy - Consolation Op. 19 No. 4 Such a beautiful piece. It sounds like you're doing great with it, even if not up to tempo yet. You play it with such feeling! Isn't it nice to have a teacher to help you along? 52. Monica K. - Berlin Song Love the opening. Very moving. 53. jotur - Bethena I like your style, Cathy! A fun listen. 55. epf - Swipsey What a beat! Your playing is great fun to listen to. Thank you! 56. grotrianer - St‰ndchen Achingly beautiful. This deserves another listen. 57. Mateusz 'Mati' Papiernik - Lute Prelude in c minor (BWV 999) You kept this nice and steady, and I liked your LH work. Welcome to Bach! 58. TTigg / Steve C - Life & Death Touching performance. 59. Bunneh - Valse a minor, op. posth. Your ornaments sound great. This is a very pretty piece. 60. Always Wanted to Play Piano - Sonatina Op.36 No.1 in C major - Movements 2 and 3 I like to play this piece myself, and I liked hearing you play it. 61. Mar_red - Kasztany (Chestnuts) & Suicide Is Painless (Medley) You "fake" it good! "Kasztany" is catchy. Funny, but "Suicide" sounds pretty upbeat in this style. BTW, what is "stride piano"? 62. Yamaha G3 & P-80 Mike White - E lucevan le stelle Nice job on the sight reading! 63. ShiroKuro - Summer I enjoy your playing, whether it's "practice" or not. Thanks for submitting. 64. BB Player - Comptine d'autre ete Nice performance! This non-savvy listener couldn't hear the mistakes, so you're good with me. 65. Copper - When I Fall in Love Pretty song. Thanks for sharing. 66. Augustina - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring Welcome to the ABF recital, and congrats on your first submission. 67. EJR (Elwyn) - Solfeggietto Oh, I like this piece! But I can only play it at about 1/4 this speed. So it was nice to hear you play it the way it should be played. 68. Sam Smith - Bach Invention #1 This brings back memories of my struggles with this piece. It was the first one my teach gave me when I started lessons. Your hard work is paying off. 69. wj3 - Irish Medley, Wild Irish Rose, When Irish Eyes are Smiling and Londonderry Air Thanks for the taste of Irish music.

Wow another fantastic recital, I just finished listening to all the pieces. So, my thanks to Malzeit, Monica & LaValse for organizing it. The recital and the monthly bar are my favorite places in ABF. I don't have "good ears" to contribute good meaningful comment to each of the pieces, but I think they are all very well played ( better than mine ). I also like the diversity of the musics submitted. Some introduced me to new genres and composers that I haven't listened before, others gave me some new ideas for my next piece and the comments you guys gave me really boost my motivation. So thank you all for submitting beautiful music, for taking time to listen and give comments. Jazzwee and AlleyKatt, you guys are the ones who gave me technical comments and they are right on. I have tendency of keeping the pedal down when I was busy with difficult chords jump, especially when battling with red dot. You have good ears Jazzwee . AlleyKatt, after reading your comment I reallized that I haven't been paying attention to my left hand phrasing much, including my wrist movement. Thank you. TB

Wow! 69 submissions for this recital. It was a lot of wonderful listening. I was supposed to be working at home today but kept going back to the recital! Now I want to practice! so I may not get any work done at all!!!
Thank you to everyone who commented on my piece so far. Thank you also to everyone who submits and keeps our recitals alive. It always gives me a little push to work harder on at least one of my 'in progress' pieces.
37. Alleykatt - Cathy - Theme & Variations From The Moldau This was beautiful. I could imagine it as the background of a very good movie.
38. Norah - Le Onde This was lovely! I don't play Einaudi (yet) but I didn't hear any mistakes. We've had a lot of Einaudi in these recitals and I'm really enjoying getting familiar with the music. You did a wonderful job.
39. Mark... - Prelude in A Major Op. 28, No. 7 A nice start to this piece. You seem to have good control - that's important - the speed will come.
40. Eighty8 - In My Life I loved this and will add it to my AB Dinner music CD! You really brought out the harpsichord.
41. DragonPianoPlayer - Chopin Prelude No 6 I love this piece and keep starting it but never finish.... you've inspired me! I'd try to bring out the melody in the left hand even more but you've done a really nice job on it! Thanks!
42. eggsdeee - Alt Wien (Old Vienna) I enjoyed this. I bet it's one of those pieces that has a lot of grace notes and syncopation and difficult to play properly but you made it sound easy.
43. Coldsalmon - Preludes Op.28 No. 15 in D-flat Major, RaindropOoooo I so very much want to play this one day. I know this is not an easy piece and may still be out of reach for me. You did a good job.
44. bluekeys - I Will Didn't suck at all! I DID enjoy it. I know what you mean about those open 2-octave chords. Seems like every contemporary piece I want to play is full of them...not easy. Marthi Mier is one I like to play and has endless arpeggios... Your performance of this piece was very nice and thought you gid a great job on the expression
45. Quagles - Dear You This is really good. Hard to believe you only been playing for only 7 months. You play with a lot of feeling and a light touch that most need a lot more experience to accomplish. Well done!
46. pianahman (Richard Griffin) - Arabesque Great piece and thank you for your explanation. I think it's awesome when a performer does more than play the piece but rather really knows it and its origin. It always shows in the playing. Something I don't do nearly often enough. Very enjoyable.
47. Inlanding/Glen - Prelude in C Major BWV 846 Often I hear this piece and it sounds so mechanical that I never get tempted to try it. Your playing was very musical and gave me a new appreciation for this very popular piece. Well played. I didn't notice the tension after 1:10!
48. Musictuary - Sonatina in C Major - Op. 55 No. 1 I done some Kulhau Sonatinas - not this one though. They are interesting pieces with a lot of variation and often harder than first appear. This was very good.
49. Tenolios - Vesper from Casino Royale Nice I really enjoyed this piece! You are teaching yourself very well!!
50. Euan Morrison - Opening (from Glassworks) I can see why you like this composition. Very hypnotic and beautiful. I do agree that the left hand played stronger would add to this but it is wonderful this way as well.
51. IPIBAHN Sandy - Confidence Op. 19 No. 4
52. Monica K. - Berlin Song Monika, I thought this was beautiful. I wanted to skip right to your recording as they are always so well done but I resisted.... It was worth the wait! I was going to suggest less pedal but then the echoing came through for me and I changed my mind.
53. jotur - Bethena Very nice! Catchy. I'm just working on my first rag piece and I know how hard the many jumps can be. That and phrasing, pedaling....timing.. Rag isn't easy but it's so much fun when you 'get' it. You certainly 'got' it. I'll look forward to hearing it again.
54. MaryBee - Sonata Facile in C, K.545, Mvt.1 You are doing a good job on this piece. I must say that I"ve heard it so many times that I don't want to learn it but I bet it's fun to play all the same. Thanks for sharing.
55. epf - Swipsey Well you covered the slips fine! I couldn't hear many at all. Very well done.
56. grotrianer - Ständchen I heard the melody fine. I've certainly heard the piece before but I don't know it very well. I thought it was excellent.
57. Mateusz 'Mati' Papiernik - Lute Prelude in c minor (BWV 999) Yes isn't Bach fun! It's been a while for me and I know when I played one I always thought everything else was easy! Time to do more I think! I have recordings of all these preludes and I thought you did a good job on this piece
58. TTigg / Steve C - Life & Death Not too short at all. It was lovely....sad but nice. I'm not a LOST watcher anymore (couldn't keep up!!) but have heard this piece on the show before.
59. Bunneh - Valse a minor, op. posth. I didn't find the tempo slow at all. I've heard recordings at this speed. I enjoyed your performance. Very well done! and the ornaments are much nicer when not a 'blurp' (my teacher's word!) even if it means playing them slower.
60. Always Wanted to Play Piano - Sonatina Op.36 No.1 in C major - Movements 2 and 3 I've played these. It was my first introduction to Sonatinas and I think my first introduction to how picky my teacher could be!! :-)). You did a very good job on both these movements.
61. Mar_red - Kasztany (Chestnuts) & Suicide Is Painless (Medley) I enjoyed your performance. I can only play very simple music from a fake book...and then at about half speed. You made this sound so easy! and it brought me back to M.A.S.H. days!! very nice.
62. Yamaha G3 & P-80 Mike White - E lucevan le stelle You sight read this? As in...never played before? Very impressive. I could never sightread to the level of anyone actually recognizing a tune! Great job!
63. ShiroKuro - Summer Finally! Another that I wanted to skip to but resisted....I'm so glad you submitted a piece. I always love your recordings and they make me want to veer away from classical music just a little. I think I've heard this before or maybe something like it. It was wonderful. You play with the confidence of a professional I would LOVE to hear this piece as you play it now. Hard to imagine it being a whole lot better!
64. BB Player - Comptine d'autre ete Sounded recital-ready to me! This was nice. The right hand sounds devilish to play in places and keeping the beat steady in the left hand at the same time must be a challenge. Thank you for submitting it!
65. Copper - When I Fall in Love Soft and lovely. I like the tempo you played this with. So thoughtful and relaxed. Nice! and I loved the addition of the background strings.
66. Augustina - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring I don't often play around with the voicing on my digital. This was nice - kind of church-like to me. You did a nice job on this familiar piece.
67. EJR (Elwyn) - Solfeggietto Isn't this fun to play! You did a good job.
68. Sam Smith - Bach Invention #1 I think Bach does 'expose' us. It's so hard to play and even harder to hide any flubs... I thought you did a very good job on this piece. Thank you for sharing this.
69. wj3 - Irish Medley, Wild Irish Rose, When Irish Eyes are Smiling and Londonderry Air Nice catchy way to end the recital. I enjoyed this medley. The recording was unfortunately a little distorted at times but I could still enjoy!

65. Copper - When I Fall in LoveVery nice Copper, I liked the slow somber beginning and the softer strings at the end. 66. Augustina - Jesu, Joy of Man's DesiringThanks Augustina I enjoyed listening. The organ voicing was very pleasing. 67. EJR (Elwyn) - SolfeggiettoVery clean and a nice recording, thanks! 68. Sam Smith - Bach Invention #1Sam, I thought you did very well with this Bach piece. I don't think I will ever get around to Bach, as well as some other worthy composers... there is just too much Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, Satie. How does one ever do all that they want? Perhaps, my taste will evolve some day and Bach will move more to the fore. In the meantime, thanks for keeping Bach in the offering. Good job with the ornaments. I enjoyed listening. 69. wj3 - Irish Medley, Wild Irish Rose, When Irish Eyes are Smiling and Londonderry Airwj3, Good job and thanks for closing us out with this Irish Medley, It was perfect music to reflect back on some of the great performances here. I have grown quite fond of these recitals. And without further ado, I send out a "Big" Thank You! to the parties behind the scenes, present as well as past, for your efforts in making these recitals possible. It is indeed a very special venue. Thanks to all that listened to my submittal and thank you, to those that chose to comment, it is taken to heart and keeps me motivated to improve and expand. To those who took the time to participate in the recital, I enjoyed them all! It is a great opportunity to listen to music, I otherwise, would not have had the pleasure. I have no idea what my next recital piece will be...

14. Strings & Wood/CarlMc - Prelude in E minor OP. 28 No. 4 I love this piece. I did it last summer. My regular teacher and my summer camp teacher had different ideas of how it should be played and I struggled between rubato and steadyness... the piece is so much more difficult to play correctly than one first thinks. You did a nice job and I liked the speed although I ended up with more evenness because of my teacher, I always felt mine was a little too slow... very nice. Thanks Sandy, It was your submission last recital that inspired me to finish this prelude. I listened to yours many times- as I was trying to find my way though this piece. I know this is one that seems to divide people on the way it should be played, but eventually I settled on the one that I felt inside. Also, thanks for the link to the master class it was very helpful as well!

14. Strings & Wood/CarlMc - Prelude in E minor OP. 28 No. 4 Very good work on this piece. I’d just like to see more of a building up in dynamics to the crescendo and then your dimuendo would be more effective. Also, the left hand could be a bit more subdued. I agree, I think it is important to build on the tension prior to the crescendo. It is disappointing that I failed to do that very well in this recording. It is the very area I had been working on to improve. Keeping the left hand even as well as subdued is the most difficult part of playing this piece. You are playing three notes in the left against one note in the right. So you really have to soften the left hand.
