for the past 5 years I've been using bsharp4 as my filling and enrollment program. I have some complaints about it...including not being able to customize the billing letterhead. Does anyone have a great program that they are willing to endorse?
thanks bluepianist

I pre-print my statement's headers, columns, etc., using a dark blue ink, and then the accounting program just prints numbers on the paper (laser printer). Looks really professional.

I use Quickbooks and they do allow for a graphic on the invoices to be printed. Or, you could do as John does and pre-print them. Quickbooks isn't cheap, however, and I find in some ways it is overkill for the small amount I use it (but I use it for other businesses so I can justify the cost). There was a website I was looking into once called www.musicteachershelper.com which seemed pretty good, but there you're looking at an ongoing monthly cost, which certainly adds up over time. So it may even be a wash for you whether you go with Quickbooks for a one-time cost (well, you'll probably have to upgrade every few years) or a smaller monthly cost. Another option, of course, is simply to have stationary printed. If you have a design already, giving that to a printing company can be relatively inexpensive (depending on the number of colors in your design and local printing costs), and then you have your logo for any mailings.

I created my own invoices and kept tracking of the billing of my students with Microsoft EXCEL program. The reason I use this because I can change the way I record my accounting and be able to change my invoices at any time. My invoices look very professional and I do it at home to save expenses.

I use Open Office & a template I found on the internet (template purchased for a nominal fee). Not as convenient as Quickbooks would be, but inexpensive & professional looking.
