Thank you, Peyton. Still trying to figure out where the motivation came from. Thanks for the acknowledgement of the first few tunes!

Musictuary - I very much enjoyed all three, and Melody in the Mist was my favorite, then comes Sunshine. Thank you for sharing your music!

Elssa - very good stylings on a wonderful old Standard!

josuff247 - Your first post and it was fantastic! That crazy light comes on and everything changes...Look forward to hearing more from you. Thanks!

That Shira's got it going there - what a cutie!

I don't do a lot of solo piano playing - the recitals, once a month at an adult day care center, on occasion at a band gig. This is my bread and butter, piano-wise. So here I am with Roaring Jelly, doing rhythm piano.

a reel:

Catharsis (Amy Cann)

a set of hornpipes:

Rights of Man/Delahunty's Hornpipe (traditional)

That's impressive, Cathy! wow I wish you lived closer; I'd love to be able to attend a Roaring Jelly gig. I really enjoyed the edgy energy of the Catharsis piece; I just wished it had been longer. Great audio quality for a live recording, too--I didn't hear any background noise.

ten left thumbs: wow that was really pretty! I enjoyed it thanks smile
josuff247: good job on the first recording!
Prince Charles: Very cute smile
Elssa: Very pretty as well. Gotta love Irving Berlin!
Cathy:That was pretty cool! thanks for putting that up.

Well, I am already thinking of what to do for next recital lol. I doubt this piece will be ready though so maybe one after that. But If i can.. Im gonna try all 12 variations of twinkle twinkle little star by Mozart! Here's the first variation.. still not perfect but thought i'd share it :P Some people really fly on this song..I might've flew a little too much though hehe. Who knew playing twinkle twinkle little star would be so hard well for me anyway :P

http://www.box.net/shared/4dc3khiziu

well.. here's one more variation.. maybe the 4th one I think.. so many more to go sighs :P

http://www.box.net/shared/3cpscx09c5

SOrry no videos as this is a work in progress and far from perfect smile but hope you enjoy it anyway!

hmm You might have to download the songs.. in order to hear them properly.. They seem pretty fuzzy when I tried to just play them back.

thanks everyone - we had such a fun time recording, and the Wyoming trip will be a laugh if we get in.

We plugged the Zoom H4 right into the mixer, so the sound was what was heading for the main speakers.

Yup - real bodhran. Same person as on the whistle. She adds a lot to the band.

I enjoyed that Cathy!

I can play the violin a little and posted a couple of tunes on YT, and got embarrassed and took them off! You and your band are very good! thumb

The violin is not an easy instrument to play! (Neither is the piano!:-)

Hi All!

I know February is winding down and I’ve already submitted one presentation here this month, but Larry Larson gave me an ultimatum that if I didn’t write a new song and post it here within 10 days, (as of 3 or 4 days ago) he would come to Georgia and hit me up side the head… shocked. So, I figured I’d better write a new song and record it and post it here to save him a plane ticket (and me some pain grin)!

(I was a little heavy on the sustain pedal to start with)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr3jV1bPvCs

I hope you all enjoy it!

Take care,

Rick

Rick, thank God you got this done. I have it on good authority that Larry Larson is one huge man. You sure don't want him smacking you upside the head. laugh

Another great song, Rick!

That was terrific, Rick! Amazing how you can play and sing so well together - very smooth! Would love a little tutorial on all those great piano chops and licks that you do. thumb My singing is hopeless, unfortunately. frown

Anyone up for a little boogie-woogie? grin

Thanks, everyone. We have more recordings, but at the minute I'm swamped with work and rehearsals for an Irish dance performance, a charity event, and St. Pat's that we're playing for and I'm stealing time right now laugh But I'm glad you liked them - we were thrilled.

And, thanks, Carol, I like my piano too... it's a little on the bright side, but not untollerable.

Thanks again, Dennis!

Take care,

Rick

well, this is my first attempt at making a base clef up on my own so thought I'd put it up.Hopefully it didn't turn out too bad. the song is Hallelujah. I messed up a little bit, but here it is.

Hi Folks, I'd like to share Bach's Prelude BWV 846. Glen already shared it in a very well done playing, but I tought would be nice upload a version without pedal, which is my preference. I'm of course working more and more in this piece, and will APRECIATE very much any CRITICS about it! Don't worry, you guys can be really mean! smile

I know this piece is commom place, too much played, etc, but I'm a beginner after all :p, mandatory piece!

I did my own dynamics, hope you like it.

PRELUDE BWV 846

ps: I don't think this piece is so beginner, because to do real legato without pedal and don't lose the pace is really challenging.

Elssa - Very nice boogie-woogie! You seem to have full control of the very lively bass line. I liked the very cool ending.

al-mahed - This is a very good recording. You played this with precision and confidence. I don't believe this piece is "common place" - I never tire of hearing a lovely piece played well.

Very nicely done al-mahed! thumb

I did post a non-pedal version for the recent e-cital. It is always a work-in progress.

Here it is:
