If your significant other walks around the house whistling the Clementi Sonatinas and Burmueller pieces you've been practicing...

....you are laughing hysterically as you read this thread while nodding your head in agreement to everything that has been said. ....you are thinking "I'm glad I am not alone with this strange addiction".

You stop calling your instrument "my piano" and start referring to it by its special pet name.

I'll figure it out eventually. Until then you may want to keep a safe distance.

You prefer a late night with a digital and headphones instead of Jay Leno. Who's Jay Leno? Jay Leno is a late night TV talk show host and comedian. Here's another one-- You spend more time on Piano World Forum during work hours than you do working.
Keep it fun, and stay motivated!

I don't do "late night", "TV" or "talk show" so that would kind of explain why I hadn't heard of him, even if the fact that I'm on the other side of the world didn't...

...you actually have two keyboards in addition to your real piano so you can carry around whichever one fits the space you're going to play in. You'd hate to miss an opportunity to play because the space was so small, you know. . .

You actually managed to squeeze an old keyboard and bench into your parents' tiny spare bedroom and leave it there so you can practice during visits. (They're more important than a bed, right?)
Slow down and do it right.

You make an appointment with your dentist. You tell him to extract every other tooth and fit ebony implants. On the way home you greet everyone with a huge, musical S-M-I-L-E
Currently working on:- C Major scale (r/h only - starting with the pinkie finger)......

The other night I called my wife by the piano's name.
The piano's name is Stacey. The wife's is not. It was a bad scene.

You watch a movie/play a game and all you can think about is whether you can get the sheet music for that one song on the soundtrack.

You might be addicted to piano if...
You collect way more sheet music than can be learned in two life times. That's me. I yanked all 2500 pieces from Piano Street's web site. The annual subscription was just so low ($30) that I could not resist. Your spouse says, â€Honey, I really need to talk to you†and your response is, “I’m almost done with this song.†That's **almost** me. Usually, my reply is ... "" ... until I'm finished with the song. You spend more time on Piano World Forum during work hours than you do working. I think that's what I'm doing right now!

You might be addicted to piano if... ....someone (an eccentric millionaire) offers you 10 million dollars to stop playing (you are not allowed to touch the piano ever again) and you scornfully reject the offer....
