Hello everyone, Can a Steingraeber Phoenix system be put into and older Steingraeber piano ? Also if a new Steingraeber piano retails for 120,000 what would a good price be? What would a Steingraeber Phoenix used go for say 5 years old 5'8 ? Sincerely, Steve

Yes and no. The Phoenix "system" requires a thinner soundboard than a traditional piano, and the bridge height would need to be modified. While this is possible to do, you will have several obstacles: 1. there are very few used Steingraebers... or new ones 2. Cost of the retrofit would be expensive (doing the retrofit to a 5 year old Steingraeber would likely cost more than buying a new one with it installed) 3. The U.S. agent for Phoenix, Atlantic Music Center, has not set up an installation network yet... these guys are the only people who do it right now, and they're in Florida. If you want a piano with the Phoenix system, you will essentially have to buy a new Steingraeber-Phoenix or have Atlantic Music Center rebuild a different brand with the Phoenix.
