I posted them in the photo gallery! Awesome action and a very well built piano. We had to tone down the room though. The tile floors and high ceilings were a problem, so now we have a rug and a new fabric couch in the room. It made a big difference. The piano was very loud at first. Now I need a good tuner out and all will be fine. http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthrea...K.html#comments

Thanks, it seemed like the bigger pianos played better so we made the room and went over budget, after all that.

Judging by the number of posts from satisfied RX-2 owners, Kawai seems to have hit a "sweet spot" with that model. It's piano party time!

I believe that the Kawai RX2 is the most popular model of all the Kawai grands. The Kawai RX2 BLAK looks most impressive in the richer, darker colour of the plate and the new, stylish Kawai badge. Hearty congratulations! Robert.

Gorgeous. Congrats! Know you will enjoy it, the RX-2 has one of the best price-performance ratios out there. Be prepared for lots of unsolicited compliments from guests and guest players raving about its tone and controllability.

Congratulation from a Kawai dealer in California! I think Kawai did a wonderful job with new RX blak series. They definitely raised the bar in terms of performance and looks. Enjoy your beautiful RX2.

Congratulations! The piano looks great. Perfect for such a nice setting.
By the way, how does it sound? Does it sound a lot different from a regular RX-2?

I tried the RX-3 and liked that one but I knew it would be a lot more money, based on the price difference in the Larry Fine 2008-2009 supplement. I didn't dare try anything bigger because I knew it would only make it harder for me to go back to under a 6 foot piano. I had a 7"4" KG Kawai when I was taking lessons and I liked it a lot, so I got spoiled from the start.
I am in Beethoven heaven!

Lovely piano! The accent wall adds to the beauty of the room--I like that accent wall. I think I'll do the same with my living room.
No one but a musician can understand the journey to find THE piano and the thrill of seeing it come off the truck into your home. My delivery was filmed too!
I'm a "Kawai Girl" too. Just 10 days ago, my life changed when "Killer" RX 6 arrived. Congrats and enjoy getting to know your new baby! RX-6 OMG, how big is that piano! Wow, you must have a big room!

Congratulations! The piano looks great. Perfect for such a nice setting.
By the way, how does it sound? Does it sound a lot different from a regular RX-2? I can't say because I wasn't really shopping for a RX-2. I played a few RX-1's and then when I sat down at a couple of RX-2's I remember thinking the action felt better, than the RX-1's and the 2 RX-3's I played were a joy! Kawai said the BLAK series gets a little more prep (regulation) at the factory. The action is perfect, across the board. It's not as light as Yamaha and it feels like my old music teachers Steinway 6" piano, say medium-light. The repetition is awesome. The hammers are supposed to be different than a RX-2 and made more for bass tone (per Kawai). You can call Kawai and the marketing person will tell you all about the piano. It was louder and brighter in my home, than in the store, so we had to put a rug under it and add a small cloth couch to the room. We are still staging the area so I will send more pictures once we are done. It definitely needs a fine tuning from about E up (past the middle C). I can hear that the 3 strings are just ever so slightly out making the vibrations cancel each other out. I'm going to let her settle down for a few more weeks before I start my relationship with a local tuner. The bass is great, a nice rounded tone. Once the strange noise is out of the higher register keys it should be even better! The plate is awesome. I love the bronze-like color. The black trim is different. Supposedly even some of the action parts, I believe the action rail is black. There is a big black steel plate across the key bed on the bottom of the piano, if you were laying on the floor looking up. The only thing I think could have been improved were the casters. They seem a little small but the piano is steady.
