Hi guys,

I've moved to Orange County last month (from Italy). I'm pretty new for this place and I need suggestions where I can find a RD700GX at good price. I've been to GC in Fountain Valley and they'd sell me a RD700GX demo (the model displayed in the store, with some scratches but working good) for $2135 plus taxes (about $2350).
On ebay I can find RD700GX new in the box at $2000 taxes included. Nevertheless I would prefer to buy in person at a store. Could you suggest some stores in LA area with good prices on Roland products?

Thanks a lot!

GC and Sam Ash are going to be the two places to look.

At CG if you act like you want to buy but say "I'm short a $200 and I'll have to save more" thell might offer a lower price or zero instrest loan. SO you might be able to get as much as 10% off that waay.

Also periodically both stores will have store wide 10 or 15% off sales but many times the best stuff is excluded.

If you order on line from out of state you can avoid local sales tax

Anyone looking for a RD 700 GX should check their local Best Buy that sell musical instruments. Not all Best Buys have a musical instrument room, but any that do may still have an RD 700 GX at a clearance price of $1999.99. Having said that, look it over well. Some of the ones I've seen the keys look like the finish is coming off on the top of the keys, but were OK otherwise. I thought I saw a clearance on the 61 key Roland Fanthom also at $1999.99.

Thansk ChrisA and galaxy4t for your suggestions, really helpful.
I'll search my nearest Best Buy (I already bought a tv there smile )

ChrisA also thank you for indentifying with me and writing that helpful sentence.

Actually I'd need a zero interest loan, for example it would be good for me to split the cost in 5-6 payments.
zzsounds.com should do that.

I'm also considering musician's friend, music123 and I'm searching for some discount coupons.

That's not true. Just because the seller doesn't collect it, that doesn't mean you don't owe it; technically, it's considered "use tax" and is to be reported on your CA income tax return. Granted, not a whole lot of people actually do this, but there's always a chance the seller will go through a periodic sales tax audit, and out-of-state sales, especially high-ticket items, can end up being cross-referenced with the buyer's tax returns. So, you take your chances ...

Not any more. There used to be a provision allowing general sales taxes to be deducted on your Federal returns under certain circumstances, but it expired last year. wink
