We need a sticky of something to this effect at the top of the forum! smile

And just add to that sticky that Horowitz was the best, end of conversation! laugh

The Scherzo focuses mainly on running passages, while the Polonaise focuses mainly on big chordal playing and octaves.

I would tend to agree with you. I've always been fairly adept at chordal playing and octaves - and I easily learned and performed the Polonaise during my senior year in college as a non-piano major. Afer 40+ years I still haven't learned either the Ballade or the Scherzo. The Ballade suffers from overexposure (sort of like Opus 10 No. 3) and appears to have some very ticky passages. I just can't motivate myself to work on it. I've attempted the Scherzo a few times over the past 40 years - but always got frustrated with it and moved on to something else. For me, at least, the Polonaise is the easiest of the bunch.
