I'm looking at a Kawai K5 (mahagony) with serial #253-xxxx (that means it was made in 2005). The dealer is offering me at $6250. What do you think about the price and the age? Does the action have carbon fiber reinforcement? thanks!

I assume you've used the search function already. You should be able to tell about the action just by looking at it. Looking back at my old '05-06 pricing supplement, it doesn't even list the K5 as a model yet, just the previous K50 model, which had a different action (abs styran). At the end of the day, I don't really care which action is in a piano, just that I like the way it feels. If it's being sold as a new instrument, you can compare prices using the Piano Buyer listed below on the right, though I've seen some pretty wacky (and semi-believable) prices posted coming out of certain parts of California.
