Hi everybody,
I have been looking out for a decent digital piano, for not too much for quite some time now. As a starter I did not want to pay too much just now but I felt that a decent touche and a good sound is important, even for a starter.
First I was tempted towards the new Casio Privia 130 / 730 series which seem good value for money, but I now stumbled upon a used Roland HP-7e in almost brand new condition which I could purchase for 600 Euro's. I decided immediately and I will be picking up this piano in two days for this price.
Do you think I made a good deal? The HP-7e is quite a bit older then the newer privia series, though I feel the build quality and the speaker/amps on the roland are much better. But on the other hand I hear also some good stories on the Privia touche and sound.... Any thoughts? Did I make a good deal buying this piano or could I have better went for a brand new privia PX-730 for about the same amount of money?
Tom

Sounds like one of the few times when the used piano is a good deal.
I does look like the Roland has only one velocity layer. The Casio has more. But when it comes to sound, speakers really do matter and this looks like a pretty good speaker design.
If you were to add a computer running a software instrument you'd bring this DP up to today's state of the art.

BTW 600 Euro's is about a little more then 800 US Dollars...
Does the roland really has only one velocity layer? Didnt the yamaha's of those days (2002/2003) had more layers than that?
