But I don't know whether to actually be annoyed by the people just trying to start a scene or just laugh them off. Usually if they attack me personally, I post sarcastic comments that attacks their credibility. Others will see it and totally agree with me, and it only makes the attacker reveal their stupidity even more. smile

Anyone have any funny Youtube comment stories?

Yeah. I commented once on a reeeeally really crappy recording of something, by someone who obviously had talent but completely destroyed this piece because of sheer arrogance. Then someone said I should quit piano.. I asked them wether they'd tell Fleisher to ever quit.. Considering I know he hates that way of playing (I don't want to go into details).

Any time someone has something constructive or negative to say, they're always telling you who the hell are you to question anything.

I HATE YouTube.

I never view Youtube comments.

These handy arrows mean that the comments will not be seen:

I've told myself time and time again I WILL NOT give in and look at the comments section. Some of the sheer ignorance left by some, is utterly unbelievable, at times.

Youtube comments are good for a laugh sometimes but most of the time they're not worth reading.

Wow, you guys are better than I am. I generally "thumbs-down" the bad comments, and if I want to offer my insight (not like I'm wise or anything) to someone who actually seems somewhat rational/decent, I will.

I generally laugh at the comments I read, because they make no sense when I watch other people's videos. Also, theres something funny about reading a "you suck" comment when they actually didn't. 9/10 times people say "you suck", just for attention and because they want to get a rise out of you.

It wouldnt suprise me if they had youtube in the past, that some of the composers would have posted comments like that to each other.

*Probably not, but to read biographies youd see that they werent always cordial with each other.

I'm guilty as charged. Can't stand him. I can't, in fact, find a single thing TO like about him (other than when he's not playing). I don't comment on his videos on Youtube, because, at all cost, I do my best to avoid his self-serving drivel. I think what's interesting is that he actually has remarkable potential, as is evidenced in Barenboim's recent masterclass DVD series, in which, his playing was very, very good (he pays attention to the music itself and sans the asinine antics). What this tells me, is that, he's an act, and motivated more by what brings him dollars than caring for what the music/composer has to say, rather than what HE wants it to say and making a spectacle of himself.

What I find weird is the ubiquitous comparisons between Lang Lang and Yundi Li... It seems like every Yundi Li video has about 20 comments saying something like "He's much better than Lang Lang."

It seems to me that we all benefit by having both of them.

(And hello! First post. smile )

He can act like a clown or little perisher this is the decision of him and you cant change it. Also i find this acts very sympathetic. By the way he is not a sabit like Horowitz.

WEll, I suppose if one doesn't want a bazillion anonymous internet peoples posting snide remarks and insults, one wouldn't post their videos on Youtube. There are other places to post videos, or so I've been told.

The internet is a crazy place!

It doesn't bother me when people bash famous performers, even if I think they're good. But it does bother me when they post cruel comments on videos of little kids. Geez, jealous much? Why would you ever bash a five-year-old?

Clown, I understand, and it's quite a befitting adjective, here, but what do you mean by perisher? What do you mean by "i find this acts very sympathetic? What is a "sabit"?

stores dont you know what is the mean of sympathetic ? Dont you know what is the mean of perisher ? I know you want to hassle with me but i dont want it. Sabit is turkish word i cant find the english word for sabit so i use my language to express my feelings. Clown is not a befitting adjective for LL you know it.
