Please visit these websites! 1) Natalie Wickham has created a journal of notes and photos about attending MTNA 2010 Conference this week in Albuquerque, NM. She lists programs and links of the presenters and gives us a huge look at what it’s like to attend one. She has my highest respect and appreciation for sharing it with other piano teachers.

MTNA 2010 Conference featured in Natalie Wickham's Bloghttp://musicmattersblog.com/2) Susan Paradis - Music Educator on whose site, Piano Teacher Resources, the link to Natalie’s reporting appeared.
This is one incredible site for downloadable worksheets which Susan creates!www.susanparadis.comEnjoy your visiting! Betty

I use Susan Paradis's things often. In fact, several of my students are playing her pieces in my spring recital. I even wondered if someone might complain to me about using so much "copied music." (My students have to memorize their pieces, but I let them take their music if it makes them feel more secure.)

Lollipop,
I, too, use composers original music coming from piano teacher/composers for some of my students. The pieces are being offered on web sites and are downloadable and meant to share with teachers. They are giving their permission to is to use them.
I have found music from primary level to advanced. I am usually pleased with the music once I take it to the piano and see and hear what it's all about and get it under my hands. I certainly plan to use these pieces in recitals because the quality is good and they are very musical. This also helps me keep parent's expenses for music down as I simply have to print them from my computer.
I actually have more links to composer/piano teachers who are sharing their music. I will come back to list more names.
In addition there is a lot of other free public domain music that is downloadable for teaching purposes.
Betty

These names are being given because Lollipop mentioned that she find free music on the Paradis and the Wickham sites. I have added some more composers and distributors of free downloads: Ann Buyswww.pianomountain.comRory van Hesthttp://composer.rowy.net/piano.htmlGilbert DeBenedettihttp://gmajormusictheory.org/Freebies/freebies.html www.musicformusicteachers.comDon't know who is the host of this site Remember to look at the MTNA Conference site even if you are not a member because there is so much juicy material on Natalies site about the conference which was this week. You'll find excellent notes on the programs heard and presenter's comments. Really valuable subjects covered to give you a cutting edge in your teaching. Betty

It's so easy to have missed this topic that I'm going to bump it in hopes that many piano teachers will see it.
There are 2 things to explore here: 1) Is to share sites that are free and for the purpose of sharing downloadable teaching materials and music. I intended to start with 2 teachers, but several others have been added as desirable and reliable resources.
2) Natalie Wickham's site highlighted what was presented at MTNA conference last week, copious notes and photos from workshops, which is very interesting reading which I found incredibly enriching!
So bump!

I hope you get a chance to look at some of those other sites too as they are very similar. Susan has so many interesting and attractive worksheets and graphics for kids. Just this week several things came in from her site: she does have a mailing list where you can receive these as she adds them to her site.
I am going to start calling you Mary now that I know your name, Apple!
Hope you had a great and spring like weekend in Kansas! Ours has been a little compromised by a serious rain and wind storm for a few days.
Betty

Betty, I've finally had a chance to check out Natalie's blogging about the MTNA conference - FANTASTIC!! I have honestly never seen such an in-depth summary of any piano teacher conference event! Here in Australia we have a biannual Piano Pedagogy Conference, the last one held in Sydney (July last year) and the next to be held in Wagga Wagga (yeah, that one might need a Google maps search for those living outside of Australia) in the first week of July 2011, and I'm thinking it would be fantastic to organise say 5-10 teachers to blog about their experiences at the conference, so that EVERY session would be covered! What a great way to inspire teachers to attend these conferences, as well as sharing so many wonderful insights, ideas and discoveries......

Avguste Antonov, Welcome to the forum recently!
Elissa, I'm so glad you found time to go into the websites offered in this topic.
I read for hours on the MTNA Conference one and it was exactly like being there and participating! Incredible effort on Natalie Wickham's part and so appreciated. I like your idea of there being contributing members posting the highlights of these annual events. It all is so interesting and representative of the latest in our career interests.
I find it hard to believe that so many teachers have not entered this topic to see what is up. When I said "Fantastic Teachers" I meant it!
Glad those who have posted got a glimpse! It's like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. What you do with it is the "prize"! I like sharing the prize!
Betty

PianoKitty,
You are very welcome! I've found these teachers during the past year and I'm thrilled with what they are sharing with us online. I finally got around to mentioning their names as I don't think there is too much of this kind of sharing going on in Piano World Teachers forum in the few years I've been here.
I actually have other names that should be listed!
I hope teachers will contribute to this list and keep it bumped into circulation!
Betty
