I was wondering what some of you all thought about yirumas pieces. Do you like them? have you learned any? if you have how hard of a piece was it?
I find most of his music to be very beautiful, and Ive learned two of his songs so far (river flows in you and Maybe) and im working on a third (till I find you) and ywould really like to learn more smile
thoughts?

Although Yiruma denies being a new-age artist, his music - so I've read - more or less falls into that category. Therefore, you may get more replies to your question in the Non-classical corner than here.

'Kiss the Rain' is one of my favourites.

Not too hard for intermediates to learn.

Just watch out for the tricky key change near the end.

I absolutely love River Flows in You and started to learn how to play it before Christmas. I was at the polishing stages of it and I had to go away for 4 days. When I came back it was like I had never seen the piece of music before.......

So I put it away for another day, however I have it on my Iphone and I am also listening to his Kiss The Rain but I dont like it nearly as much as River Flows in You.

I will have a look at the other ones you mentioned and have fun with them - they are really beautiful pieces.

I like those as well, not quite as much as river flows in you and maybe though :P but I think I like pretty much all his songs

His music seems to be the type that is technically easy but musically difficult. I temporarily put off playing River Flows in You because it's so darn hard to get right!

I have a lot of friends who like playing his music but it's too repetitive for my personal taste. New Age is great as background music, however. It doesn't demand attention or make excessive noise like a lot of other genres.

I agree that his songs are quite repetitive, and I have noticed that most follow the same pattern... plays a part, repeats it , plays something different, then first part again, another different part, first part again :P so yes it is repetitive, but it is sooo pretty.
