Help. I play a Casio Privia PX-300, about five years old. When playing a melody, many times I get a fast repeating bup, bup, bup, bup sound. Sometimes the sound is a litle different louder or softer, longer or shorter. If I stop playing the melody and just gliss back and forth a few times in the area the noise comes from it stops. I think it might be insects or dust. The piano is located in an air conditioned room 24/7 so I am not too worried about moisture. I live about 250 kilometers from Bangkok, Thailand, the closest repair place so I would like to check it out some myself at home. At each end of the piano there is two screws that appear to hold on the end caps and hold all of the frame together. If I put the piano on a large table for safety and the remove the four screws will I be able to dis-assemble the piano enough to see what the problem might be and to clean out dust, etc if necessary? Thank you, John

John,
I have a PX-575 which has an access panel on the bottom of the piano held in by numerous screws. Look under yours and see if you have one of these. Barring that, you would need separate the case which is 2 pieces to completely disassemble the piano. The endcaps need to come off as there are more screws that hold the sides of the case together. It is not difficult to take apart, just be diligent about grouping the screws which should be easy as they are all nearly the same size. But there are a lot of screws to deal with. The keybed is mounted to the bottom part of the case. Once separated, be careful not, to tip the bottom panel upside down or you will break the plastic nipples that hold the 3 screws that mount the keybed to the bottom case. These are on the back side of the keybed.
