Does anyone here have experience with this stuff?

-----------------------------------------------------
From the ad:
A product much better suited for pianos than competing products like Protek CLP (without the concern of flammability) and a very small amount goes twice as far. This is an exceptional product which is now the preferred choice among professionals over using graphite - and is even safe enough to apply directly to the contact face of grand backchecks. NewOctave GlobalTM Piano Action Lubricant dries clear and will not stain metal, leather/buckskin or cloth/felt. Unlike graphite based products, this product will not saturate and prematurely harden pourous materials in the piano which must remain resilient, yet will resist friction like nothing you've ever used before! As well, for the 1st time in our industry, we now have a product which CAN be safely shipped overseas (non-flammable). Cleans and coats and then completely evaporates, leaving a clear Teflon-like coating to protect against future moisture-causing rust and corrosion. This product is strongly suggested for key bushings and key pins to limit binding and assure smooth operation of the keys. It can also be used on grand shank knuckles (rollers), butts, jacks, damper guide rails, bridge caps and many other areas where mechanical operation of the piano action can be improved. Traditional Naphtha-based products (improperly referred to as "center pin lubricants") will clean well as they are in fact degreasers, but do virtually nothing to lubricate components (and are also extremely flammable products to store and transport safely due the very low flash point of petroleum-based liquids). Reapplication will be kept at an absolute minimum by using this revolutionary and time-tested product. Best applied with a Hypo-Oiler (part # 9E0701). NewOctave GlobalTM Piano Action Lubricant is truly the best product you'll find on the market which will also protect pedal trapwork and eliminate squeaks. If not completely satisfied, we'll refund 100% of your purchase price - yes, it's that good!
DO NOT ALLOW THIS PRODUCT TO BE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH KEY COVERINGS, STRINGS, TUNING PINS, DAMPER FELT, HAMMERS OR FINISHED CABINET SURFACES
---------------------------------------------------------

It seems a bit odd that they would suggest using an action lubricant on grand backchecks...
"even safe enough to apply directly to the contact face of grand backchecks."

It's also interesting that they compare this with ProTek CLP. But it's to be used on knuckles and trapwork, too.

Thanks.

I bought a small bottle a few months ago, and as I haven't needed it yet, the only part I know is true is "completely evaporates"... The bottle always remained closed tightly and inside a plastic bag, and about 3/4 of it has disappeared. Even keeping it in standing position doesn't help, it just keeps evaporating...

I think I'll get a bottle and try it on some old frozen junk action parts.

Thanks Bourniplus ! smile

I have a bottle of it too, and I can testify to the same evaporating... I think it's a decent lubricant, but it has quite a nasty smell, which travels to your other tools, too. I haven't used it since i got Protek CLP and teflon aerosol spray.

I guess I'm wondering if this might prove to be a silver bullet for verdigris. I'll be experimenting.

Thanks smile

Well, on grand backchecks, I would prefer sillicon grease !

Interesting marketing claim.

I talk to many, many professional technicians and no one has ever mentioned it....

I never even heard of it until recently. But, I'll forgive the marketing claims if it does the job without harming anything.
