I've played through a Hal Leonard "Pirates of the Caribbean" book, and see N.C. It's above the staff at the first meausure of "Davy Jones Plays His Organ" and other places.
Anyone know what "N.C." stands for in music?

??
Maybe it stands for "no chord," i.e., no L.H. chord goes with this melody?

Yes, I'm almost positive "N.C." stands for "No Chord". Just play the bass line, if appropriate. Does that make sense in the place you see it?

Hi Jason, That's it! Now I see the chord markings and it makes sense as "no chord". Thanks!
