I posted this to the piano forum, but I guess it's appropriate here as well:

I am in the process of choosing a rebuilder for my rosewood Steinway B. I live on Long Island. I would be interested in any recent experiences people could share regarding individual rebuilders in the New York metropolitan area.

Thanks.

With your understanding that I am his apprentice, I cannot recommend highly enough the work of Russell Gordon at Russell Gordon's Piano Workshop. I am an accomplished pianist and, after having played one of his pianos, decided I just had to work with him. I have since helped in the rebuilding of five or six Steinways which have incorporated the Stanwood Piano Touch Weight and Action Design System and am currently working on two others, one of which is for a client of mine. You can take a look at his website (currently being redone) at www.russellgordonpiano.com.

Whatever you decide, best of luck!
