Ok so if you won $300,000,000 in the lottery... What would you build for a concert hall/room/ or stage? And what instruments would you include?
____________
I think my favorite styling is the Baroque period. With marble, spiraling columns. Gold, crystal etc.
I would build a hall in the Baroque style. White marble. A 80 or so rank 4 manual Pasi pipe organ with dual temperaments. The organ would be white, with gold accents. There would be carvings of famous composers on windchests of the pedal 32 foot pipes.
The console would be constructed in the historic way, of having the hand carved knobs flat against the organ case, rather than the more ergonomic curved and angled stop jams. The keyboard would be of black naturals and 2 tone sharps. The sides of the sharps will be black, and the tops white. The front of the keys would have 1/2 circles going inwards as in the famous old Schnitger styling.
The pedals would be in the old european straight style. I can not play the american 32 pedal concave curved ones.
The organ would be set up to be hand pumped and an electric blower.
Below the organ case would sit on stage an old restored 9' Erard or similar.
The stage would be set up so that it can fit an entire symphony, and enough seating for a large venue.
Oh there went my $300,000,000!
