I have a Fantom X8. I do like the stock grand piano sound however, I have read a bit on here about the Supernatural upgrade for the Roland RD 700GX. People seem to rave about it. I haven't heard that live but I have heard the stock Grand Piano sound on the 700GX and think it is better than my X8.

Does Roland (or another company) make any good upgrade cards for the X8 for piano sound?

What is the best way to upgrade the piano sound for this keyboard (without buying a 700GX/Supernatural upgrade)?

I'm not really looking to use something like Pianoteq but if it is such an improvement, I would consider using a PC/software for sound generation.

(p.s. I do have good monitors and headphones I play the sound through so this has helped already, I'm more looking for a better actual sound generated by the keyboard).

It looks like the SRX-11 is the best option.

Anyone have any info on how it compares to the supernatural upgrade for the RD700GX?
