I had this YPG630 for a couple of years now. I started lesson a little more than a year ago.
Your skills/talent might be much better than mine, but for now the keyboard fullfill my expectations.
It certainly is no match for the baby grand my teacher has, but the YPG630 is not the limiting factor right now. The limiting factor is between the bench and the keyboard. smile
If I had to complain about something, it would be the light touch, and the lack of dynamics.
All in all, this is a great keyboard to start and make sure you enjoy piano playing.

That's a good price. I paid $739 about a year ago. I'm an intermediate player and have the YPG 635 and like it a lot. I'm not sure why more people here don't talk about it. Willie Myette uses this keyboard on his piano lesson sites.

No, AudioSourse AMP-100. The speakers I have are the Polk Audio R50.

http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/r50/

I don't think the brand of the amp matters much as long as it is good quality and at least 50W per channel (100WPC might be better)

The speaker matters more. I got this one because the hight of the drivers is about perfect with the high frequency dome tweeter just inches above the top of the piano and they have good enough dispersion that I don't have to toe them in (and being only 8" wide they fit in the available space.) Frequency response is to 50Hz (3 dB) but 40Hz at about 10 or 12 dB. Polk's specs claim an SPL of 90 dB (1W at 1M) but no way. more like "mid eighties" hence the above "100WPC might be better" If you need that much power after buying an AMP100, just buy another AMP100 and run them in "bridged mode, one amp per speaker.
