Hi,
For those of you in the Vegas area- just got an e-mail that the Bosendorfer store in Las Vegas is closing the showroom. Everything is on sale through 5/7. They also have older rebuilt Steinways.

I think some of these from LV got shipped to the Bellevue (near Seattle) store where I purchased my Vogel V177R this last weekend. They had quite a few Bosendorfers and I was told they came from LV.

They even had a big one with more than 88 keys! I guess it must be the Model 290 Imperial.

I receive regular e-mails from Bosendorfer Las Vegas. I live within their dealership territory. As of yet I have received no information on this, and I checked the website to see about any changes.

I'm sorry to hear that they are closing. I visited their showroom many times and always enjoyed their hospitality.

Yeah I just checked out the Bellevue store. I was upstairs playing on a Schimmel when a worker told me to check out the huge Bosendorfer downstairs. Among the 20 (yes, 20) Bosendorfers they had, was the massive 290 Imperial.

I thought he said 20... there were at least 10 in the basement with another 2 upstairs. He said they normally have 2-4 at a time.

This is Bellevue though, they probably won't have a hard time selling them. Once one of the reps there said they sold an $80k Bosendorfer to a couple from Microsoft whose kid just started taking lessons.

Although I'm happy that Bellevue made the sale, since I've never been able to afford (or justify) a Bosendorfer, it's irritating to think some kid just starting lessons gets a $80K instrument. Wonder if the Microsoft couple is looking to adopt an older child? (much older in my case) Heavy Sigh!

Do you know the reason why? because it was such an impressive store. Did Yamaha cancel their ditribution agreemnet for Bösendorfer?

I received this reply from Bosendorfer Las Vegas when I inquired about the closing.

"It is true that we are in the process of closing our Summerlin location in Las Vegas.
Our All About Pianos parent company will still have our two Montana stores, but for the time being the location in Las Vegas does not make sense with the current economic climate."
