I am planning to increase my fees beginning August lst. I have the rate change in my updated policy (but have not sent it yet to parents).

I'd like to go ahead and e-mail parents the updated policy to make sure they are aware of policies regarding summer break. But should I take out the notice about fees increasing, and notify parents just a month in advance? I'm thinking it may confuse them and they'll lose track of when the fee increase begins.

Minor issue, and either way probably won't matter much. But I'm thinking too much anticipation of a rate change may have a negative effect...(if anyone has any negative feelings about it). Any advice? My guess is that I should wait until July 1st to give notice about fees, and therefore send current policy separately. Any advice?

One thing at a time -- remind them of summer policies first and send a second notice before your fees change.

I agree. It will be confusing as to when the new rates start, but if you announce them in the beginning of August that they will start in September, then that is plenty of notice. If you change rates every year, then doing it at the same time means they will anticipate it.
