hpeterh,
Johan B,
By the way, which of the 2 piano sounds on the clp320 do you prefer? I think that the first one sounds more "juicy", but it depends on the music you play. Sometimes the second one is more appropriate, although I haven't had enough time yet to experiment with them ( I've had my new dp only for 2 days now ) Oh, and I live in Paris, France
Update:
Johan B, I listened one more time to the recordings you posted and they too contain that background "pshhh" noise, although it's not as loud as mine. Do you use Audacity's noise removal tool?
Which of the two piano's?.........depends of my mood and of type of music..... Sometimes play Bach with piano 2....other times piano 1 You know the piano 2 is in the bass-part a little weak/soft....piano 1 has a firmly bass but in the treble a little sound of a toy-piano..... When I doubted of Yamaha and Kawai.....the Yamaha still had the preference. About the psssh-noice.....Even at a good soundsystem of my adult son in Utrecht we can not hear it in other recordings......in these recordings I did not use the noise removal tool, perhaps that is the reason... Best regards, Johan B

Johan B, I also preferred the sound of the Yamaha better than the one of the kawai, comparing equal price range models of course. I also liked your "yesterday",very nicely played. Writing from my phone here, so will post again later.

Reminds me of some acoustic threads at Pianoworld. Also over there, people keep asking/indicating which specific type of Yamaha or Kawai in a specific price class they like better. Just a matter of taste, I guess...

For the touch...take the Yamaha.....
Funtionality: The Kawai has, in my opinion, many bells and whistles like rhythmboxes etc.....
The Kawai ES6 doesn't have many bells and whistles, it has the basic features, it has reverb, echo, a few more, transpose, metronome, split, and a very limitted rhythms. I have it and I will say the ES6 works if what you want is good action and sound. I don't know the CLP-320 but for example the action of the ES6 feels the same as my teacher's acoustic piano so I never have any problems with that. There are some good youtube videos, check them!

I solved the problem with the background noise and I feel like an idiot now... While recording I checked the option in my audio applet that allows listening to your recording device, so that's where the noise was coming from. After I unchecked it everything is OK

Yes I can, except that I'm connecting headphones out to line in. I will post something soon, but don't expect something great. I had a break from piano playing for 1 year (moving to another country, my lovely piano left behind) and now after 1 year I finally got myself a dp, so I can resume my biggest hobby

Best regards, Johan B Of course not, I like the fact that there's some competition going on, which will result in better products either way. Just a general observation to add for Kawai vs Yamaha DP's: Yamaha's console DP's are outdated and overpriced compared to Kawai's recent CA93/CA63/CN33/CN23 models, while Kawai stagepiano's are outdated compared to Yamaha's recent CP models... So, Yamaha and Kawai will have to restore the balance sooner or later

thanks Johan B! yeah, I used audacity for recording. Plugged the cable into my pc's line in. Had to play around a little with the volume control before I got a decent quality out of it. And the clp 320 is a very nice instrument, I don't regret picking it up. Since I got, I spend almost all of my free time playing it. Still can't get rid of all the excitement
