So, I'm doing military service right now and that means I can play only weekends. Two days in a week isn't much but I guess it's better than nothing. So, any ideas how I should use this time so that it would help me to progress more?

I think if it were me, I'd use the time to just play -- just enjoy the time at the piano, playing what I felt like, and not worry about progress. Or at least mostly.

I'd figure that I'd deserve just relaxing and enjoying!

And I might also try to see if any of the others serving with me are also into my kind of music, and maybe look to share it with them somehow or even play with them.

BTW, need we say: We appreciate your service.

agree, play and play and play, if there's another time and life, you could just get back to it, now it's no option, as long as you can, play, enjoy, and don't loose any extremities in combat, please!!!!!!

Maybe you can do some mental practice during weekday?

I am going to have a 14-day trip during summer and won't have access to piano. Maybe I'll just think of the piece I'm learning on the plane and play with my fingers on the bus. Though I still can't imagine how my fingers will be like after these 2 weeks!

Are you being sent abroad, to, let's say, not so Christian environments?

dolce sfogato, I doubt Gary is at liberty to answer that question and I honestly don't see how it is relevant.

Gary, if you want to make progress with limited practice time, set small goals appropriate to the amount of time you have. By small, I mean decide ahead of time to learn a certain number of measures or perfect a portion of a piece of music. If you keep your goals are realistic, you are setting yourself up for success and satisfaction.

Deborah, if life is at stake, what is relevant?
