My performers ARCT examination is coming up in August...and could I get some input into my repertoire choices? Currently it looks something like this...
List A (Bach) - English Suite no.3 in G minor (prelude, sarabande, and gigue) List B (classical sonata) - Beethoven's Waldstein (op.53) List C (romantic) - Chopin's third Scherzo (op.39) List D (post-romantic) - Ravel's Une Barque sur L'ocean List E (modern) - Bartok's Allegro Barbaro List F (etude) - Scriabin's op.42 no.5
I have a lot of other stuff that I can play though, especially for lists c,d, and f
List C: Chopin's Nocturne op.48 no.1, or his Polonaise op.53 List D: Debussy's Ballade, Pagodes from Estampes, or Rachmaninoff's op.32 no.10 prelude List F: Chopin's op.10 no.1, Liszt's Chasse-neige, Rachmaninoff's d minor etude op.33 no.4, or Scriabin's op.8 no.2
So how does my programme look? Should I consider any substitutions, or will I probably be fine as is? Thanks a lot in advance!!

I think your choices are great - I wouldn't change them!

There is no indication in the requirements that artistic balance of the choices is one of the criteria of the examination, except that the candidate must choose "six contrasting selections."
Play what you play best from all of your eligible repertoire, and keep the selections to an hour, maximum.
Regards,

Well it's not romantic or post romantic =P Modern is 20th century (non romantic) and after, isn't it? I don't know these things confuse me too.

He meets RCM standards for modern repertoire, at least, even if to today's ears he can sound downright Romantic at times.

Thanks for the replies!! I'm cutting it quite close at about 55 minutes, but I think I should be okay.
Some of these pieces are hard hard hard things, but I hope I can pull it all off.
Thanks again!
