The California Philharmonic has made Estonia it's official piano this week and Hollywood Piano Company it's official piano provider. The exciting news for us is the Estonia piano will make its debut at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA Sunday June 27 at 2pm with Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. I am working on some discounted tickets for PW members, so if anyone wants to go, please send me a PM.

This is the 5th major local orchestra that Hollywood Piano is the official piano provider for, the others are the Pasadena Pops, Pasadena Symphony, Glendale Symphony and Burbank Philharmonic. Our piano movers love this!

Wow, that's very cool Glenn, congratulations to you and to Estonia.
I wish I was on your coast, would have loved to attend.

Have you heard Indrek's rendition of Rhapsody in Blue? Amazing.

Congratulations Glenn!

So, who is playing and how did this come about? Was this the artists choice or is this a director's decision?

Thanks for the offer of discounted tickets - can you do anything about plane tickets? wink

Thanks Frank needless to say we are all very excited about this. I understand Indrek does a great Rhapsody in Blue. Might have some news about him playing it soon too!

Rich if you come and visit LA , I'll come and visit Philly. wink But if you can't come I will take plenty of pictures for everyone to see.
It was the Conductor / music director who made the decision. The past pianos of the orchestra were Fazioli, then Bechstein and now Estonia.

Thanks for posting the link to the Cal Phil site Gary.

Uuuhhh, Glenn. Remember the LA NAMM years? It was at The Staples Center that your father offered me a job working for him in LA - what a gentleman!

I think you owe me that trip to Philly. I'll buy you a cheesesteak... and I miss your Dad.

Have a great time on the 27th!

Thanks Rich. I miss him too. I will come to Philly one of these days and see your restoration facility.

Thanks for the news, Glenn!

Just to be clear, this is a nine-footer, not the new seven-foot piano, right?

Do we know if Indrek Laul has made any recordings? I'm not turning anything up.

Fazioli, Bechstein then Estonia. Are they systematically introducing their audience to great pianos, or was their a problem with Fazioli and Bechstein?

I love the idea of a hall that uses a different piano each year!

Cy it will be on the 9ft concert.
