My German is a little rusty, however I can still appreciate Ingo's great playing and terrific demonstration of the CN33's main features.

I really love that rich, gutsy sound from 1m:20s too!

Cheers,
James

And I just realized, they did a demo of the CN23 too.

I like the sound of both as well and I am curious, how the speaker system sounds.

I've played a CN33 in a store. At first I didn't like it. The tones of the pianos sounded a bit artificial, almost like an EP, in the octave below middle C. Then the salesman came up and played a demo, but the first thing he did was turn the volume up from about one-quarter I had it on, up to half to two-thirds. The difference in tone was amazing and I couldn't believe it. Even pianissimo parts. The sound(s) were very good on the first two pianos of the first two piano selections. (There are 4 sounds on each of the two piano options). The speakers and sound system seemed excellent.

The salesman left me to myself and I turned the volume down again since my playing is not so hot, and again I thought the tone is not so good on a low volume. Not just quieter but it seems to lose the clarity, sharpness, brightness; it might just be my old ears.

I also tried headphones. The tone through a headphone matches the tone with the volume turned up without the headphone, if that makes sense.

In the end I liked it. I wanted to play more. The playability, of the keyboard is excellent. I swear it actually improved some difficult arpeggios in a piece I've been learning, my fingers just found the combo I needed. I had a 'wow' moment in the store, like when you're learning a new piece and the you go from HS to HT and it just happens.

I am going to go back again later this week for another trial. Might take my wallet. :-) or should that be :-(

Originally I wanted to buy one of the CA series. For that reason we were multiple times at the dealer, trying the CA-18, CA-63 and comparing with the CLPs of Yamaha (340/370). But I did not like the sound of the CA-18 through the speakers and even the CA-63 was not absolutely convincing. Partially due to the high price.

I was there today once again. This time I had the chance to try the CN-33. The keyboard is great. A BIG improvement over the AHA4. And I really liked the sound, especially through the speakers, so we ended up buying it. Being that good and a lot cheaper were to many arguments.

The salesman (himself a Yamaha-Fan) was very enthusiastic about the CN-33. It was the first time he played the new CN-33 and he said it is even better than the CLP-340 in his opinion.

By the way, the hammer of the RH-Action seems not to be fixed to the keys. It is only pushed by the keys.

Yes, that's what does it for me. The CA63 is a great DP but in the UK it's nearly £1000 more, or put it another way almost double the price of a CN33. The CN33 is a good, maybe fantastic DP for its price.

Congratulations, and good price. I don't think I can get that in the UK. Probably a bit higher with free delivery and assembly and maybe a bench or something. I like to give the store I've tested at my custom despite possibly cheaper via Internet. We'll see.
