Me and my kids have been watching the Glenn Gould Hereafter we recorded on ovation tv and cant figure out what the piece is he plays at about 1:17 (with commercials) its right after the radio interview where they say Glenn was not accepted by the musical profession because he was a threat. Then it goes into black and white footage of a younger Glenn playing this piece. It starts off slowly then pauses abit and speeds up. If anyone knows the name we would apprecite it.
Thanks

The complete list of recordings from this movie can be found at: http://www.medici.tv/#/movie/117/

I'm away from home this week and don't have my "Hearafter" DVD with me, but something tells me it's the Goldberg Variations.

I think I found it. If you're referring to the piece he plays while driving through the country side at the beginning of the movie, it's the Brahms Intermezzo in B flat minor Op. 117 #2.

Thank You !!
Now can anyone suggest a sheet music book with a CD that would cover this in a more unadorned and realistic version that is not quite so intimidating???

Is everyone sure that it is Beethoven's Eroica-variations? In that case, there is a broad choice of interpretors, Kempff to Gilels, Perlemuter to Katsaris..
