Hi All,

What would you all think about a forum for the "Do it Yourselfers" and hobbyists. This could be a place for hobbyists and DIY's to ask questions and then if the professionals wanted to participate they could and if not, oh well, and the rest of us wouldn't be asking questions in the tuners and tech forums.

Just a thought,
ewaite

Hi Ed,

that might be a good idea. There would, however, also be a possibility to just start threads like that in the tech forum, with the topic headline clearly stating "DIY" or st like that.

Personally I think the last suggestion would work as well, and it would keep much of the same information in the same room, so to speak. Then, if some tuners/techs don't want to answer, that would be entirely up to them - there is nobodoy forcing anyone to read a post wink

regards,
patrick

I really like the idea, especially since we would the be more able to give each other answers without feeling like we are out of bounds because we're posting an answer in the tech forum when we aren't techs. I think there would be more opportunity to learn from each other since some of us are farther ahead than others and there would be less worry about asking what may turn out to be "stupid questions". The techs wouldn't have our threads cluttering up their forum, as you said they could choose to participate or pretend we don't exist. Someone has started a DIY tuning group on yahoo, but my main interest right now is refurbishing and regulation and there doesn't seem to be much interest in that area in the yahoo group.
