Hi, New kid ex far north Queensland Australia; technically naive. After trawling thru a myriad of your strands it seems the common preference between CLP 380, HP 307 (or LX10F may be better but depends on price) and CA 93 comes out in favour of the HP307 but depends on personal use and preferences. In Oz the prices are way above USA: CLP380 is near $8K, HP307 and CA93 $5-6K; that's a lot extra so I would go HP or CA. If I wanted to go to a more interactive instrument with more voices etc such as CVP 509 the price doubles to in-poo-with-wife territory. What do I actually get for that and if I want those features can I get better value from Roland (HiP7?) or Kawai (CP179?). If all I want is interesting extra sounds and fill ins on the base and easier ways to make music sound good (do not care much about recording or mics) does the HP307 do a lot of that anyhow without paying double? I have a small grand acoustic and find the 380 compares OK in base and mid range but is tinny up high so I know it falls short but still want a dig for headphones and extra options.

Price seems very flexible - I read on one strand that the retailers discount by up to 50% off list. They are now offering 40% off the Clavinova CLP 509 PE so either Yamaha want to destock for end of tax year or they are about to change the model and add the CP1 sound technology to this range soon.
