An eBay seller who sells dealers' overstock has them listed at $2590 + shipping - which can be considerable. The images show a black finish. I don't know if that's polished ebony or if a dealer would charge more for ebony. here.

tejasintexas: $2700 is pretty good, though others have done better. (Did you negotiate this price?)
Here's what the prices paid thread shows (showing only US sales):

fogville: That ebay dealer is selling outside the authorized Yamaha sales channels. You'll get no warranty from Yamaha.
He claims to give his own warranty. I checked. But what good is a warranty from a company that you don't know, located who knows where, with no specifics about the warranty terms? He doesn't even say that it's a FULL warranty ... so for a "warranty" repair, you'd have to pay for shipping both ways! Figure $300 minimum!
(I don't mean to be a spoiler. But in my communications with this guy, I got an unsettled feeling, mainly because of the evasiveness of his reply.)
All in all, you can go to a local piano dealer, get the Yamaha warranty ... and pay less than what this guy is asking.

All, thanks a lot for the information. I appreciate that. You are guys are very helpful. Yes, I have negotiated this price. The dealer was asking : $2699 + $200 Shipping + Tax(8.25%). I negotiated down to $2700.

Oh ... I missed the part about "includes tax & delivery". If that's a local dealer, delivery might ordinarily be about $100 (just guessing). Then, take out the 8.25% tax ... that makes the selling price about $2400. Good deal.

CLP-340 Rosewood : $2700 (includes tax & delivery). I am in Texas. There is a price paid thread here with many clp340 prices. People seem to pay between $3200 and $2400. Your price seems to be abut average. Some have sold as low as $2350. THe other question is is a CLP-340 is worth twice the price of a P155. That is harder to answer. for the extra money you get textured key tops, bigger speakers and a third pedal. Worth $1,500 over the P155? The third angel is what else the same money would buy. Quite a few choises for that price.

The 5 year parts and labor warranty is quite attractive when buying through a dealer.

I paid $2800 plus tax for mine ... after all is said and done ... I probably could have gotten a better deal.
My guage was looking at eBay ... they wanted about $2600 and around $400 shipping. So I figured if I got $3000 or less total, I am okay ... I did ... so I was happy. In my area too ... we only have the one dealer, so there was not a lot of competition for me to haggle with.
Plus again ... the advantage of the 5 year parts and labor warranty is a big plus too.
As an aside:
Does anyone know if the warranties are transferrable? I could conceivable sell this guy at the 4 year mark with the new onwer still having a bit of a warranty left if anything went wrong. I would think that would help keep its price a little ...

I don't have a CLP but the warranty is not transferable on other Yamaha DPs. You can read the warranty in the owner's manual, they are all available on-line

If the receipt contains the owner's name, the store may be picky about having the original owner only be able to claim the warranty. That issue can be fixed, however, if the original promises the buyer (in writing) that he/she's willing to claim the warranty to have the repair done within the warranty period, even after the third-party sale.

I suspect that what you're suggesting is not legal. Either the warranty is transferable or it's not, and the terms are typically spelled out. How much warranty work is actually done on these machines? If it is going to fail, it will fail early in terms of electronics. It should be obvious from the outset if there are mechanical problems, such as noisy keys, and these are typically addressed immediately after sale. (We've read so many "this key is noisy, and the advice is to contact the dealer . . . " After that, a warranty is not all that useful.

I'm no lawyer, but I would contend to say that a non-transferable warranty doesn't mean that the manufacturer is absolved of responsibility when the product is changed hand. What the original owner does with the product (gift it or sell it or loan it or rent it) is none of the manufacturer's business. To me, a non-transferable warranty just means that the manufacturer will honor its warranty, but only to the original buyer and nobody else. So as long as the original owner is still there to claim the warranty, the manufacturer must honor it. The status of ownership of the product is irrelevant, unless the wording on the warranty explicitly talks about the status of ownership of the product. And even then, loopholes can be found, such as the original owner remains a minority 1% co-owner of the product to allow him to claim the warranty.

Since most repairs happen at authorized repair centers, which are independent of the manufacturer, the shop will only need to see the original purchase receipt. (And often they won't even ask for it!) They'll handle the warranty claim. Simple.

I have one more follow up question.
My dealer is saying that they open all the new pianos, set it up and put it on the store’s floor. So the piano I am buying (CLP-340) is not in a box. It's already displayed on the store's floor.
I am not familiar with how things work in piano world. Is the piano still considered new ?
Thanks

Kind of like buying a new car ... the car may already have 100 miles on it because of other people test driving it ... but you are still going to pay the "new" price.
When I purchased mine the dealer had a 340 and a 370 that he said he assembled "just" two days ago. I had to assume he was truthful. A few days later when we were ready to purchase, the 340 had sold, so he had to order a new one. It took 5 days. When it was delivered by the piano store, it was assembled already which I almost prefer as this way they were in an out of my house in a matter of minutes. Hence, I lucked out as the 340 I received was about as new as you could get.
The bottom of my 340 has a manufacturing date of April 2010.
