Hello. I have a buzz in my new Yamaha P85. It buzzes when I press the middle F# hard enough. I tried to get it taken care of through Kraft Music (where I bought it) but they merely told me that that must be the frequency that causes the case to buzz or something. I notice that I can get it to stop if I press my hand against part of the casing. Anyways, it's super annoying. Any fixes I can apply without voiding the warranty?

Goobie
In the area where you pressed the casing are there any buttons?
I have an Akai MPK 88 and it rattles a lot, mainly the transport buttons so I covered a couple of them with elctrical tape and that sorted them out.
The annoying thing is I paid £600.00 for this keyboard and for that sort of money it shouldn't have any rattles at all, so much for quality control.
Any way, check if it's a button rattling then tape it down just making sure it's still useable after taping.
Cheers
Martin

make sure there's nothing at all sitting on the piano. I was convinced my old DP was broken till I realized I had a paperclip lying around. has that exact behavior too. my paperclip resonated with E though.

I owned a Jeep Wagoneer many years ago and there were a ton of rattles. I took everything apart, the doors, the dash ... everything and stuffed foam in the appropriate places to stop the rattles.
I'm afraid the only solution for you is to open up your keyboard. This isn't rocket science. I've opened up my P250 and CP300. I didn't have rattles, I just wanted to see what it looked like. I also tightened up a bunch of screws as well. You would be surprised just how many screws on the inside are not as tight as they should be.
I'll pass on one piece of advice. If you open it up, have the piano next to a wall so the lid can't fall backwards but will be supported by the wall at a 90 degree angle or so. Have a friend help you if you're still scared about doing this and\or have someone video this so you know the sequence of events to put it back together. This really isn't difficult.
There are probably screws under the side panels. I'd start there.

Can you duplicate it with another piano in the store? If you just purchased it ... purhaps they would swap you out for a new one that does not buzz?

Could be a simple as a loose screw. You'l have to open it up and check but if you are lucky it is one of the case screws.
You can stiffen the case. You'll have to open it up to see how best this can be done. You might glue some hardwood to the inside using a kind of flexible polyurethane adhesive.
