The main character is a guy trying to eke out a living as a musician in a cover band, and the book is full of similarly funny stories about dealing with customers. In the novel, the protagonist's band came up with a strategy to deal with annoying song requests: The Revenge Song. So if somebody asked for "Brown-Eyed Girl," say, they'd follow it up with something even worse, like "Honey."
